The 22 year old mother pleaded guilty to the crime of her 3 month old son Dylan Lee Edmondson. According to Tobias, the baby wouldn’t stop crying while she was playing Farmville and shook him. After the initial shake, she then smoked a cigarette to calm herself, and then shook him again. During the second shake the baby may have hit his head.
This is being counted as second degree murder and can earn her life in prison. Another sad day in gaming. If I ever cause physical harm to someone over a game, I deserve jail time.

do people actually pay to play that? i get so many invites and whatnot on my facebook, but i'm not much a gamer and never bothered to check any of them out.....if people are paying for this shit, i need to have a talk with my broke ass sister because i get 20 updates a day about how she added a cow or some shit to her farm

The article is slightly misleading; the game is not really responsible here, the mother could have been doing any activity and gone crazy.

As for Zynga, the social games market is huge, but in terms of paying for entertainment, the judgment here seems a little hypocritical.
