Anybody ever get bruised ribs ?

Any advice on it ?

I don't want to go to a doc....no insurance ! I don't think there is anything that can be done anyway ? I do have a bottle of Hydrocodone 5mg/ 500 mg I've been taking for it that I got for something else about a year ago.

I think I'd know if they were broken/ fractured not just bruised....still hurts like Hell !

just wait it out, right ?

Had em once from a car accident (seatbelt bruised em). Damn glad I had that rather than being tossed around in the car.

Hurt like hell for the better part of 2 weeks. What sucked was that it hurt to breath in or out.

Even if you have a hairline fracture not a lot they're gonna do for you other than write a note to get out of work (if you need it) for a few days.

DON'T TRY TO PICK UP ANYTHING HEAVY. Other than that take those recreational pharmaceuticals you spoke about above and they will knock the edge off for ya.

Don't laugh or cough.
Hold your breath as long as you can.
Continue eating the hydrocodone.
May take 14 to 21 days to completely get rid of symptoms.

Yeah I cracked some playing High School Football. Nothing you can really do except try not to aggravate the injury any more than you can help it. A heating pad might help somewhat, but it is just a bitch of an injury all the way around.

yeah I had them and there was nothing the doctor could do except put me on light duty. He also gave me an anti-inflamatory which speeds up the healing, it took about 3 to 4 weeks to heal

Real men don't take pills! but on a side not bruised/cracked ribs can be really painful try to move as little as possible and refrain from deep breaths.

hurts like hell to sneeze, cough, blow my nose, get in/out of a chair or bed. Breathing is fine.

I can get comfortable with no pain if I don't move too much, but then getting up hurts.

I guess I'll just have to wait it out.

I respect an athlete than can play through something like this. I feel like I'm 85 now !

How bad is it to have a FEW drinks while taking Hydrocodone ? I'm only taking about 2 a day of the pills, looks like I have 20-25 left.

I had shoulder surgery a few years back and always drank on them. Different people handle it differently. I have a pretty weak stomach and Percocet would make me nauseous when I would drink, but Hydrocodone - no problem.
On a serious note, you are not supposed to drink while taking them for a reason ... you will get f**ked up! I'm a big guy, and was a bigger drinker when I had a prescription Vicodin and two beers and I was solid. Definitely don't do this if you are not at home ... could be bad new bears.

These Vicodans don't hit me hard at all, that's why I've had a bottle since last December.

Yeah I cracked a couple last year. The doctor does nothing but give you the hydrocodone and tell you to take it easy. It sucks, you just have to wait it out. No point in going to the doc though if you already have the meds.

I drank while I was on them, gets you a little extra fucked up but nothing unmanageable. Only thing to be careful about is hydrocodone + alcohol will make your ribs feel a lot better, and you will have a tendency to over-exert. Then you wake up the next morning and you have set yourself back a couple days.
