this does kind of make some sense

from SI's Mandel

"Mind you, the TCU-Boise conundrum could determine the difference between playing for a national title or playing in ... the Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl. Seriously. Assuming Oregon and Auburn win out, the highest-ranked non-AQ will by rule go to Pasadena to replace the Ducks. The loser is not assured of anything, however, and there's a very real possibility that Boise in particular will get passed over entirely. The Sugar Bowl, having hosted Hawaii, Utah and Cincinnati the past three seasons, is hungry to land a big-name program. And the Orange Bowl could be hosting ACC champ Virginia Tech -- which Boise already faced. The Fiesta Bowl has last pick and will have the Big East champ forced on it.

That pretty much says it all, doesn't it? Virginia Tech, the same opponent that was supposed to serve as Boise's signature win, could cause the Broncos to miss a BCS bowl just by its mere existence. The non-AQs may be sitting prettier than at any other time in BCS history, but they remain forever vulnerable to being shoved back into the basement."

If Boise runs the table they will be in a BCS Bowl game. No worries!
The BCS Bowls know that Boise brings the unexpected and a pizzazz that few others do.
Who can ever forget their upset performance over Oklahoma.

Boise will get the invite if they run the table. I feel confident that Alabama will beat Auburn, Oregon State will beat Oregon, and Boise will pass up TCU anyway after the Nevada game. People forget that the computers and polls have them so low because they've played in 1 or 2 less games than everyone so far because of how their schedule was set up. It'll adjust.

What if Auburn and Oregon win out...which I see Oregon doing more so than Auburn...then what?

If they win out than that's that. Voters will make that the title game. Nothing else can be done.

I'm not saying that Boise will be in the BCS Championship game. I'm saying they will get an invite to one of the other 4 BCS Bowl games.

Right now it looks like Oregon against Auburn ! If Auburn loses I would give Stanford another shot at Oregon. Clearly they are the second best team in the country. After that I would say TCU. Boise probably will be regulated to Humanitarian Bowl

Right now most bowl projections have BSU going to the Humanitarian Bowl...........personaly, I believe they will play in one of the BCS BOWLS if they win out.

For all the crying they do with all of these tear jerking threads, justice would be served in the Humanitarian Bowl. Just worry about beating Nevada then we'll figure out what to do with you !

noway in hell does stanford deserve "another" shot at oregon. thats fc-king absurd.

bama is gonna beat auburn so they will be out. i think oregon will run the table (although i hope they lose) it will and should be Oregon vs either TCU (who i believe is the best team in the country) or Boise St....let the argument begin but i do believe this is the year one of the midmajors gets in the title game and fwiw i think they win it all....

i think we have 3 really really good teams in Oregon/TCU/BoiseSt i think they are all very closely rated to each other.

auburn has been unbelievable and would rightfully be the consenus #1 team if they win out but i really think they lose at bama.
