As a lifelong Seattle Mariners fan, admittedly there has been a lot of frustration and heartbreak over the years. But, none more than tonight. Anyone who lives and dies with this team like I have for the past 25 years feels the same way. It feels like I lost a grandpa or something. The passion and enthusiasm that Dave brought night in and night out to a team that was, quite frankly, pathetic, made watching the games bearable. He didn't call games, he told stories. Win or lose, every night the story was engaging and entertaining. I don't know if I can or even want to imagine a season without hearing his voice. I'm truly heartbroken. RIP Dave Niehaus, baseball has lost a great one today....
