My girlfriend saw one during our last trip. She told me the lady was accurate more often than not but then the psychic said she sensed trouble and wanted thousands of dollars for future meetings. From what I've heard, that is pretty typical. The more experienced ones are good at getting information out of you and making you believe they have powers.

Helpful? Maybe, in the same way that a psychiatrist, friend or really good bartender will listen to you talk through your problems.

Real? Of course not.

One of New York's Top 12 Psychics, Fahrusha Accurately Predicts 2005 Daytime Emmy Winners Live on "The View" Two years ago, a New York magazine cover story named the psychic Fahrusha one of New York City's top dozen "supernatural superstars." On Friday, May 20th, Fahrusha proved her talents in the most public of settings: on national television, sharing her predictions for the winners of the 2005 Daytime Emmy Awards with the hosts of "The View" -- with a 75 percent accuracy rate.
New York, NY (PRWEB) May 24, 2005 -- Two years ago, a New York magazine cover story named the psychic Fahrusha one of New York City's top dozen "supernatural superstars." On Friday, May 20th, Fahrusha proved her talents in the most public of settings: on national television, sharing her predictions for the winners of the 2005 Daytime Emmy Awards with the hosts of "The View" -- with a 75 percent accuracy rate.
Fahrusha has been invited back to appear live on "The View" on Monday, May 23rd, to discuss her uncannily accurate predictions, which included the victories of Ellen DeGeneres as best talk show host, "Jeopardy" as outstanding game show, and Meredith Vieira as best game show host. The odds of her randomly guessing the winners in these categories are only one in 100.
Her one miss might have been due to wishful thinking: Despite admitting to the hosts of "The View" on Friday morning that "I'm getting some really strong vibes here about Ellen DeGeneres," Fahrusha predicted that "The View" would win best talk show. At Friday night's awards ceremony, "Ellen" won that category as well.
"I'd mentioned on 'The View' that Ellen DeGeneres was strongly influenced by Jackie Gleason's spirit, whether she realizes that or not," says Fahrusha. "I'd like to speak to Ellen about that some time."
After Fahrusha's segment, the hosts of "The View" interviewed Patricia Arquette, who plays Alison DuBois on the hit series "Medium" with Joy Behar asking Arquette, "What did you think of Fahrusha?" Arquette smiled and replied, "She seemed very cool...A sweet lady." "Yes, very sweet," agreed Behar.
In addition to making predictions, Fahrusha -- whose father was psychic, too -- also locates lost objects (e.g. she helped an award-winning author locate the diamond that had fallen out of her engagement ring). She also analyzes handwriting, and writes a monthly column for Tiger Beat magazine commenting on teen stars' signatures.

75% correct? I could probably do that if I saw the betting odds. Aren't these award winners known ahead of time anyway?

I'm surprised more touts don't claim to have psychic powers. But then again, anyone of us hitting 57% longterm could be considered psychic, lol.

I never understood how people pay these "psychics" for their future. It's a bigger sucker bet than playing the field in craps....

Bunch of non-believers here. Just because there are many who claim psychic abilities to con people doesn't mean psychics don't exist. Far too many still in their box...

My father went to a psychic one time. It was some well known guy in New Mexico.

He did predict something he could not have possibly have known. The psychic gave him a name that he didn't know anything about at the time.

A year later, he moved o North Carolina into an apartment complex. The name of the apartment complex was the name the psychic gave him.

That John Edwards, guy is going to be at the Peppermill this month. Supposedly he can see dead people, but I think he's full of shit. If you ask me all psychics, are just really good profilers. Accept profilers admit that the guessing is a science, while psychics try to bullshit you that its some kind of divine vision.

Got lucky twice. Better yet she's probably the killer.

Psychic helps police find body

Posted 10 days ago

A woman's psychic vision may have helped investigators find Carol Hodge's vehicle in the Otonabee River.

City police actively sought tips from the public during their investigation into Hodge's disappearance.

Staff Sgt. John Lyons said one of the people who came forward was a woman who had had a vision suggesting that Hodge's vehicle was in the Otonabee River, close to Lakefield.

The vision wasn't that far off, Lyons said, declining to identify the woman with the apparent psychic powers.

Hodge's vehicle was pulled from the Otonabee River Saturday afternoon, marking what is expected to be a tragic end to the search for the missing woman.

The silver Honda Civic was located about 100 metres north off Nassau Mills Road, on Armour Road.

A body was found inside the car, and Lyons said he presumes that the body is that of Hodge, 64.

A definite identification will likely be made following a postmortem examination, he said.

Tuesday would have marked the three-month anniversary of Hodge's disappearance.

She was reported missing Aug. 9.

Her son Michael called police when he hadn't heard from his mother in about two weeks.

Lyons pointed out that investigators would never turn away any tips from anyone, and the woman's statement was neither unreasonable nor outlandish.

"You're never averse to listening to anyone, or following any lead," Lyons said.

The woman pointed investigators to an area where they were already searching, he said. Hodge's vehicle was found just north of the dam near Trent University.

The woman has helped police before, during a two-year investigation into the disappearance of 51-year-old Wayne Kelly.

Kelly went missing in 2002. His body was discovered in 2004 in a heavily wooded area off Johnstone Drive.

Lyons said the woman had had a vision that pointed investigators back to the Johnstone Drive area, despite the fact that they'd previously searched there before and found nothing.

James Randi is a well known magician and skeptic. James has spent years debunking and exposing all kinds of frauds, psychics and mediums. Randi's most famous for his challenge. He is offering $1,000,000 to any person who could prove they had paranormal powers under scientific testing conditions.

So far, nobody has won the challenge.

Randi says John Edward is just using standard techniques that can be reproduced by individuals with no psychic powers. Edward denies these allegations and surprisingly, has refused to accept the challenge.

James Randi's 1 million dollar challenge is known to be a joke. He has refused to accept certain applications (on the basis they are to ridiculous. lol), the million dollar prize is in some sort of useless bonds, and because he is the judge and jury he often has changed the requirements and simply abandoned some experiments.

Simply put its a challenge no challenger can win.
