Well, it almost happened, I dont really play BJ that much but however, here's my thing before I give you the story, I personnally think, with thousands of books printed and millions of online sources telling you how is THE TRUE formula or winnig of BJ, I think its a bunch of baloney, ((((Except for the one,,two, three, pack cards))) in a shoe and you are counting.

So, im at the casino, got tired of roulette, and stepped over to the BJ table, prior to going over to the table(bj), i did see one gentleman, had about 4 huge stacks of five dollar chips, in about 10 minutes it was gone, then a little after that i went to the same table, (please note, there was also a band playing, and i can remember, the played, "the gambler" about three times when i was there,) now back to the story, so I sit down buy in on $35.00USD, i start playing, i do remember a dealer at one time telling me that if the dealer is showing 2 thru 9 or is it 10 then I should not take another card, or something like that, I do know to double on 11, 10 or sometimes nine if you feel like it. well, the dude had another stack and was sitting 3 chairs away from me, i was jus having fun, i had two tens, and split the tens (lol,) i won both hands in the end, but at that time, the guy had jsut lost his last 20 dollars and seeming was MAD AT ME, he seemingly was mad the way i was betting/playing, saying i made him lose, my thoughts on that is its MY MONEY and I can play however i like, i can ask for another card if i have 19,20, its MY GAME even though we are at the same table, its MY MONEY, if i won 10,000, im going home with MY 10,000, same if i lost, if I lost the other guys at the table not gonna say here bud, heres a grand.

Weel, he murmered something about azz ole when he was leaving and I gave him a few words, well, we shared a few words back and forth, lol.

whats your thoughts on this guys

I've seen this happen a lot actually, people get mad at you for hitting and "taking their card". I'm gonna say that the first card you got after splitting your 10s would have gave him a pretty good hand.

I never bitch how another player plays his hand. It's his money. Sometimes a bad player hurts you, sometimes helps. Doesn't change the odds.On occasion I have split face cards against a 5 or 6.

Yup, anything to get extra money on the board when the dealer has a 6 up.

Splitting 10's vs a 5,6 calls for a +5 True count. It doesnt happen often.

If you're not counting there is no reason to split 10's.

Only thing that bothered me when I use to count was bad players ate up a lot of the cards in ++ count shoes

But I agree. It's their money and they can do what they want. Doesn't hurt or help ya in the long run. It all balances out.

I never understood this. Would the odd not be the same that the next card off the deck be a 10 as the 2nd or 3rd card off the deck being a 10?

Splitting 10s is just gambling

Not using correct strategy is just as likely to cause the dealer to bust as it is to make his hand. If someone's brain is so poor that they can't understand that, no matter what they do they're going to lose money and leave pissed off

You would be stunned at the percentage of BJ players who think that third base controls the table; it doesn't help when pit bosses articulate the same belief.

At first I was stunned, not anymore. Always remember that anyone who puts their money in the circle is allowed to play the cards however they see fit. Deviating from correct strategy costs a red chip player no more than a couple pennies each time. While a black chip player has such a sense of entitlement that I am not going to get involved with them no matter what

I can sit for an hour or two and the only time I say anything is when I have to count out loud to keep track of the count

This is why I only play blackjack between 3-8am. I play one on one.

The guy who was mad at you is also an idiot. He should have gotten up and walked away after one hand. If I am going to sit down with others on the table, I sit and watch how they play. I don't just walk up to a table and sit down.

I will say this, splitting 10s, may get you split in half by someone sometime. Just get up and leave after one hand, win or lose.

Very refreshing to see someone give accurate information about BJ on these boards.

I don't understand why people bitch about splitting 10's vs. a 5 or 6 dealer card. If you had a ten count against a dealer 5 or 6, and doubled down, no one would say a word. Now here's two chances to double down against a 5 or 6 giving you twice the chance. What's the problem?

I agree bagiant, i cant understand, if i was give a ten, would I not play the ten??
I was given two tens and had the opportunity to TRY and win TWO hands (which incidently i did win) ITS CALLED GAMBLING,
so what if im given the opportunity to play TWO hands instead of ONE its MY turn, and MY choice, so what the heck, lol,
