very rare.....-500 wouldn't even cross my mind.....if i just want action on a fight or something i'll take the dog....think the most i ever laid in baseball was around -170, and i didn't even like that....hard enough to hit 53% at -110 over the long term.....i guess if someone i had a lot of respect for told me to lay it then i'd consider.....just not something i'm into though
never crosses my mind to lay -500... I have seen people do it and lose there COMPLETE and TOTAL ass chasing a bad day

I lay heavy chalk from time to time, even down to -1000.
I don't do it for US-sports though, just on games in some lower divisions over here in Europe since there is a huge difference in team quality (typically you get scores like 8-1 in hockey, 21-0 in baseball or 8-0 in soccer for such games) and I tend to put them into 2-,3- or 4-team parlays, most of the time involving at least one team around -200, so that I get a -125 to +100 payout on the parlay.

Just too scary to lay that amount of chalk. The hardest thing for me is to accept a really bad losing day, but just about every time I've tried to chase with laying even -200 or a bit more the play loses so I'm getting better at just accepting the loss and hoping for a better result the next day.
