I've been repairing computers for a while now. Just a little side project. This woman brings me one and says it has a virus and she has 6 more if I do a good job. Anyway, it won't turn on at all. Blue screen right after the Windows XP logo. I do tests on all the hard drives, memory, etc. Everything comes back perfect. The shitty part is that she says it was starting up fine before it got to me so I'm already looking like an idiot even though I never even got the thing to boot up despite spending hours upon hours rebuilding everything and testing. Just can't find a damn thing wrong with it.

Anyway, she's a nice lady and brings me an older one that she says is running slow. I spend 2-3 hours getting a ton of viruses on it and cleaning it up. The thing is running perfectly and she calls to say she's coming to pick it up. About 10 minutes before she gets here it turns itself off. I reboot. Fried hard drive. I can't freaking believe my luck. Even though it was just an old hard drive that went out, it now looks like I've destroyed two of her computers somehow.

I'm putting in a new hard drive right now and will attempt to save what files I can. Going to take a $50 hit just for spending two days fixing computers. Awesome.
