it's not weird..and it aint AMAZING bro....they take on a very similar role of the polyphonic spree..who were a flash in the pan fad...just like these nutters...was backstage 2 years ago with these WANNA BE WACKOS....it's an act....they aint all that out there..they were as normal as normal could be..they are more actors and actresses than musicians....sorry to blow the cover...but i have been just getting rowdy lately after i feel the wool had been pulled over my eyes on that 'lady antebellum' song 'i need you now'.....which i really liked until someone reminded me of the 'alan parsons project' song 'eye in the sky'.....and i realized why i left the music biz---no one has a soul..or a real bone in their body..cheers
I kind of like it. It's upbeat and kind of folksy. It reminds me of some of the smaller clubs I've been in some time in my past. If a person doesn't have the same experience you may not like it.
I especially like the mood lighting they have at the Letterman Show for this skit.
I know of this 'band'.
They have a following, not my thing, but they are innovative, and is innovative such a bad thing?
Slightly above average band in my opinion, but I heard they did 'kill' at Lallopolooza.
Taken by itself I'd probably think the song is pretty catchy, but the NFL commercial that uses it (and seemingly plays almost as often as those horrible iPad commercials) has effectively ruined it for me.
The band reminds me of every band that were Austin favorites in the late-'80s/early-'90s. (See Poi Dog Pondering, for example.)
