So, my wife goes and buys a French Bulldog. He is 1 years old. His owner said he needs more attention and they are never home.

So, overall, he is a great dog. BUT, the sumabitch barks non-stop when we leave. You can hear him out by the road. Funny thing is, he doesn't bark at nothing else, other than when he is left alone. We keep in in the wash room or kitchen with a gate when we leave just to make sure he is house broke like the previous owners said.

We have only had him for 3 days now, he may be a little home sick and scared I guess.

Anyone have experience with this?

I have 2 dogs. 1 English Bulldog who won't make a noise(except to snore or fart) or get off the couch even if Freddy Kruger comes in the house. My other dog is a Boxer and she is only 5 months old. We got her when she was only 6 weeks because the owner was gonna destroy her(I don't know why just took her).
Anywho the Boxer did the same thing, bigbet, for about 2 months after we got her.....It will stop. I could hear her barking when I was walking up to the door after work....I was the first one home during the day.

i own a siberian husky and she's 3 years old already... your dog is old enough to be able to behave.. but if he just changed home 3 days-7days ago its normal for him to be insecure and never want to be alone.

i could not go out on nights for almost 2 weeks without my puppy crying the whole nite... she was 1 month old... had to come back and let her stay at my room.... but they get used to be alone... if this behavior continues is because you are reinforcing it... stop giving her all the attention when the dog is crying or barking, ignore him.

when he behaves correctly congratulate him and maybe give him a snack... NEVER DO THIS WHEN HE IS BARKING/CRYING/JUMPING AT U... he will then learn what kind of behavior will get him attention and affection

I got a mutt a few months ago. Waiting on her DNA test to find out what the bitch is. She's fast as hell though and loves to run....away. Never barks though even though she can, which is kinda nice. I think she's some combination of greyhound, rhodesian ridgeback, golden retriever, german shepherd, something like that.

Two basset hounds here and they howled nonstop for the first 10 days or so. Had to wake up in the middle of the night 5-6 times on average to shut em up. They stopped though and now only go batshit crazy when they hear sirens. Probably think their pappy is calling out to them.

I"m the comsumate dog nut. Drive around with food in my car for strays and i'm constantly taking strays to the SPCA. I am sure since you have had him only a few day's he is dioriented being away from old owners. He probably feels like you are leaving him for good and the other owners probably left him for long periods at a time. He feels like everytime you leave he will be left alone without food or water for good.Give him a little time, leave a tv or radio on and maybe one of your t shirts or socks in the kennel with him. Also, leave him something to play with or chew on and take him out whenever you get home. That breed makes an excellent inside dog, very affectionate.
