Who gets out of TN first? Fischer or Vince

The more we hear about Vince Young’s post-game meltdown, the less likely it seems that Vince Young will ever take a snap for Titans coach Jeff Fisher again.
Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean reports that Fisher and Young got into a verbal altercation in the locker room after the team’s loss. This was after Young threw his shoulder pads in the crowd after the game, apparently upset he wasn’t put back on the field.
According to Wyatt, Young was “throwing out expletives” under his breath as Fisher talked to the team. Young was told to quiet down. After Young quickly dressed, he started to leave the locker room and Fisher told him not to walk out on his teammates.
Young’s response, which Wyatt is paraphrasing: “I’m not running out on teammates, I’m running out on you.”
And . . . that’s all she wrote for Young with Fisher, right?
The two men apparently exchanged more words before Young left. Then came Titans safety Michael Griffin‘s fruitless (and shirtless) run to retrieve Young. Griffin knew what an important moment it was.
Perhaps Young has already begun to realize his error, as well. He apologized to his teammates (but not Fisher) on Twitter Sunday night. He said that he just wanted to play and cited his competitiveness. Fisher noted in his press conference that Young never told him that he wanted come in.
Young’s thumb injury may require surgery, which would end his season. Wyatt thinks that Young won’t play this season regardless of the surgery and won’t ever play for Fisher again. We agree.
One of them will likely have to go, and owner Bud Adams is the man to make his choice.

I missed this today. What was he injured and Fischer wouldn't let him come back into the game?

Young gets run out WAY before Fisher. Fisher is among the best coaches in the league...if not THE best. Firing him would be like the Steelers firing Cowher. Young is a punk...inconsistant and the organization isn't going to put up w/ it. I'm sure they will work a deal to get a 3rd round pick or something out of it....

CP, that would be a huge mistake (IMO). The Jaguars canned Tom Coughlin.....see what he did after leaving Jacksonville.....

personally i like Fisher. there are not many coaches that would be available that would be clear upgrades. but there is serious apathy in the Nashville area right now and the owners will have to do something to get the fans attention to regain that energy and momentum they had 10 years ago . they tried with the Randy Moss thing - and i was happy ,but so far it doesnt look like it worked

Never have liked Vince, however, I don't think Kerry is the answer at all and I was not a fan of the huge contract he got. Basically this season is done for Tennessee...hopefully we pick up some good players via the draft - if they could get some decent quarterback play this team could be a contender again. The talent and coaching is there...just needed a couple more pieces to complete the puzzle.

young isnt anything special, but i dont understand what the big deal about jeff fisher is. he is nowhere close to the big dogs (bellicheck, dungy, cowher)

hes made the playoffs 6 out of 17 seasons. he's the jerry sloan of the nfl. people just think he's good because he's been around for a long time. in reality, you have a tennessee market that doesnt care much about the product (bangwagon fans mostly) and an owner who likes him.

he's been in the postseason 2 of the last 7 seasons.

he should be out the door as well.

compare that to dungy, 11 out of 13 seasons in the postseason, with a super bowl. and for people who say oh yeah, its just because he had manning, look at indy before dungy came and look where indy is now without dungy.

also, dungy went to the postseason 4 out of 6 times with tampa, people forget that.

that is a legit coach. 6 out of 17 doesnt cut it with me.

It appears Bud sides with Vince. No way Fisher stays after this.

Titans owner Bud Adams said Monday that quarterback Vince Young and Coach Jeff Fisher are going to have to get along according to Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean.

Young and Fisher had a confrontation in the locker room after Sunday’s overtime loss to the Redskins, an incident Fisher followed up by telling media that Young is no longer the starting quarterback.
Cooler heads will have to prevail going forward, said Adams, who talked with Fisher, Young and General Manager Mike Reinfeldt on Monday to get more information about what happened after the game.
“They are going to have to work together. I haven’t given up on Vince, and I am sure Fisher hasn’t either,” Adams said by phone from his office in Houston. “Vince was upset and said some things he regretted after doing it, but you have to get to the bottom of it, straighten it out and move on.
“It is one of those things that happened. It has happened, it is all over with and we want to get Vince back and playing again for us. … These things happen. I have been at this thing for a long time, about 51 years now. I have seen a lot of things happen and I don’t want to go jumping off the building over something happening one time.’’
