What is better? For what reasons?

From what I would imaging, wireless easier to maintain and install because not much wires running. But I'd think a wired system is more reliable and less things to possibly malfunction?

Wireless.

I could be confusing, but wired is with a home phone line attached, right? If not go wireless, if someone cuts your phone line, what do you do?

i think wired means sensors are phycially wired to the main unit (brain) of the alarm.....so they are running wires from every sensor to the main unit with the keypad

wireless has the same setup of sensors and main unit but are not connected with a hard wire.

I think either way phone lines are connected (to the main unit)

Wireless is of course jazzier.. wired seems to be a bit safer... I am sure that wireless looks cleaner and nothing gaudy so if you like clean and neat stuff then take the small risk the thing were to go down in a bad situation.. probably a 1/100th of a percent or something.

Not sure about all, but My Phone lines are Under ground.

my phone lines are under ground as well...

about seven yrs ago...I had a cable guy come out and dig the cable into the ground...

what he did was sever the the phone line and the alarm system...

unbeknownst to me... within 2 min's...Cop's were there w/ GUNS drawn..

scared the fuck outta me...

I was yellin' ...I live here...I live here...stop...

they asked my wife...are you here by your own free will...wtf..

scary shit...I can laugh now...but that was some scary shit...for sure

I have a wireless system in my house. It has a battery backup and GSM card so there is no use in cutting power or phone lines.

overpriced, I have never used it but I guess you cant put a price on piece of mind
