Way to create a playoff, yet make every regular season game still really matter

Let 10 teams in.

Top 2 in the BCS start in the semi finals. The other 8 play for the last 2 spots in the semis. Thus the top 2 BCS teams only need to win twice to win it all. Everyone else needs to win 4 times.

If they did this, every regular season game would be as meaningful as now, and top 10 playoff has a nice ring to it.

Use the 4 current BCS games as Quarterfinals, the only change would be now these 4 games would part of a playoff and winners move on. BCS Conference champs and 2 at large. Maybe take the Big East out of the AQ and have 3 at large teams

so we have 3 suggestions.... someone wanting 10 teams, 8 teams, and 6. Why? why not 16? or 32? And why get rid of the Big East and not Conf USA AQ? The bowls and BCS are here to stay and won't be changed.

8 teams using the 4 BCS games doesn't affect the regular season at all. it would just make the 3 now that are meaningless now mean something. Every team is still trying to win their Conference to get one of those berths. If you have a playoff with more teams, it would be to many games for fans to travel to those sites. With 8 teams we are only asking 4 teams to play and extra game and 2 teams to play 2 more games. As far as the teams that should be involved, If your Conference does not have a high enough ranking, (like top 12 ) your left out and another at large team moves in.

The big arguement against a playoff is that it makes regular season games meaningless. The way to fix that is give the top 2 a big big big advantage.

A playoff Making the regular season meaningless is a myth ! Not sure why some say that hen there is no truth to it if you keep it to a 8 team playoff

It should be a 16 team playoff and regular season games, in general, would be much more meaningful.

to make it fair for ALL div 1 school's, like they do in cbb, would to let each conf champ into the playoff. make's it fair for all imo. but this is why cfb is a joke and doesn't ever produce a TRUE champ.

The thing im sick of is people saying that the way it is now every game matters. If there was a 6 or 8 team playoff alot more games would matter right now. Think about it, going into this weekend it didnt matter at all what any team outside the top 3 or maybe 4 did because only those 3 or 4 teams even have a prayer of playing for the title. in an 8 team playoff games like the LSU/ Arkansas game wouldve been huge because whoever wins would still have a shot at the title not just a BCS bowl. Not to mention all the teams ranked 3-10 would be in huge must win situatoins right now. The way its set up now games like Mich St., or Stanford ect. ect didnt mean shit this weekend. Hell, in an 8 team playoff any team in the top 15 would still have a shot at playing for the title right now. A whole lot more games would matter toward the end of the year if there was a 6 or 8 team playoff.

the biggest problem is some conferences have a championship game and others don't. Either they all have it, or none have it.
