The best opportunity was last year when UF played UC in the Sugar. Jesus Tebow should have taken his teammates and walked off the field in protest after the coin toss. He was the only player who could have mustered enough positive support.
Honestly this is what it is going to take for a playoff to occur. A team has to walk out and fuck over the TV and bowl game in order for change to occur. Why should players put themselves at risk of injury in a meaningless game, particularly UF last year with as many pros as they had.
Imagine how Fox would have looked if after the coin toss, Florida went home.
The other option is a fan boycott of bowl games (even though it appears as if they are already boycotting most bowl games) or a regular season weekend.
