Crazy to see him in college. Figured he'd for sure get an NFL job.

Gruden will be great with kids. Probably better suited for the college game.

If this is true, the U will be kicking ass again within a couple of years.

That would be great but they need to get back to playing in Miami and not Haiti/Jamaica

It took me a minute to get that but that the Orange Bowl is gone and the Marlins are building a baseball stadium in Miami. Joe Robbie or bust for Miami and if you have seen the crowds at the last couple games it was embarrassing, even the Virg. Tech game. Miami is getting crushed on this one because they had signed Shannon to an extension before the season.

Peter King insisting that there is nothing to this, which probably makes it more possible that it's true. PKing is pretty wired up, though.

According to the Sun Sentinel, Gruden initiated contact with the University of Miami to say he wants to be the school’s next coach, and the school told Gruden that the interest is mutual.

skeptical.....maybe he is using this as a bargaining tool for a new ESPN contract?

i don't think so. If anything, he's used his commentating gig as a way of advertising himself to the league and also other interested schools.

His heart really isn't in commentating, it's just a way to take a break but still be involved with the flow of the game.

Based on his last six seasons in the NFL, if Gruden were hired by UM they could likely expect a series of 6 and 7 win seasons with a solid butt kicking in any postseason games.

Why did you like it better in Havana?

Seymour, what part of Miami are you in?

I live downtown - yeah, I want the games back in Little Havana - that shit hole stadium was great - no parking - everyone barbecuing on lawns - I doubt they're gonna be moving back there though when the Marlins stadium opens - no one goes to Joe Robbie - team plays 30 mins from there campus

not happening and gruden is great on MNF you're nuts....

You must like him and Jaws sucking each other off every play. Tirico should just get out of the way so those 2 can have their Brokeback Mountain monent. Wait, can we hear Chuckie screaming about how much he loves Maurice Jones-Drew's thighs for 3 hours, again?

Miami has very little cash to pay their next coach. They are trying to upgrade facilities....there's only so much money to go around. Whoever takes this job will be a charity case. They simply don't have the funds and/or resources right now. They certainly have the recruits, however. This will be interesting to see how it pans out. I doubt it's Gruden...but more surprising things have happened....

OR, they might win a superbowl with a solid defense and a "mediocre" at best QB.....

I knew the guy liked coaching too much to stay away from it for too long a time. Plus, he is still pretty young.
