LeBron would welcome a jersey retirement in Cleveland

  • November 30th, 2010 6:49 pm ET
Fans in Cleveland have already shown what they want to do with LeBron James' Cavaliers jersey.
Burn it, trash it or shred it have been some ideas.
But James has another hope. Hang it from the rafters.
"Wow. Of course," James said Tuesday when asked if he would like to see his number retired in Cleveland. "If that's something that organization and franchise would do, I'm all respectful of that. I just tried to be the best player I could be every night, whether I was in that Cavalier uniform, that USA uniform. If that results in me having my jersey retired that would be great."

LeBron makes his return to Cleveland on Thursday as a member of the Miami Heat. Security will be heightened, as most expect a rowdy crowd will greet James.

Meanwhile, the Heat have lost four of its last six games. The team's 10-8 record is well below what was expected, and the struggles have led to increased criticisms of James, his teammates and coach Erik Spoelstra.

Thursday's game tips off at 8 PM EST and will air nationally on TNT

Lebron James is completely out of touch with reality IMHO.

Yea I agree - or, he needs to be more honest with himself and interviewers. It's really hard to tell with him, what his actual motivations are - he really seems to have lost any fire/charisma that he once had had.
