Panama City

Is Panama city a nice place for s short weekend?
Southwest has cheap flights and price a hotel called Legacy by the Sea for $79/night.

Is it decent there? would new years eve there be fun?

Any other suggestions for a 3 day weekend away on the cheap for this coming new years. Just myself and wife.

very nice city, cheap as hell, lots of night action, casinos and clubs... if you like to party you'll find that drugs are very cheap (ive been told lol) and the local talent is gorgeous (lots of colombian chicks too)

They have some decent golf close by if you like that kinda thing. 99.5% of the night life caters to the 18-25 year old crowd. The city is mostly a place for kids on spring break so you can expect the winter to be pretty much dead. There are some decent places to eat...all in all nothing spectacular. I would never in a million years dream of flying there though...I rarely go now and it is not that far by car for me - It was tons of fun when I was a young guy chasing tail and getting wasted, but now that I am married there are much better places to go IMO. If you just want the beach I would consider SC or NC before I went to PCB...

BTW for those of you who are assuming Panama City in Panama - no way in hell do you get an out of country flight on the "cheap" and there is a PC in Florida which is also quite popular - there is also a hotel there called "legacy by the sea" so I am assuming he means Fla.

Fishead, he was referring to Florida. Southwest doesn't fly to Panama City, Panama. But speaking of Panama. its a typical Latin American Country. It is poor, corrupt, catholic, hot, humid and rains 9 months a year. However if you want to bang hookers, snort cocaine and drink its great. I dont know about it being one of the top 5 retirement places in the World, most retirees quit snorting coke by retirement age. ITS A SHITHOLE!!

Was referring to Panama City FL. Can get a round trip flight for 2 for 420 bucks on Southwest. Just wasnt sure if it was a decent place for a 3 day weekend. And if anyone had a hotel recommendation. Legacy by the Sea looks nice online.

I used to live there for about 6 years, overall lame as f*&k but beautiful beach and sugar white sand if that is your thing. There are better places to go for your money.

If you do go, consider staying in Destin, its about a 30 minute drive heading toward Pensacola and about 100 times better
