This isn't your grandmother's antiquing. Pickers like Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz are on a mission to recycle America, even if it means diving into countless piles of grimy junk or getting chased off a gun-wielding homeowner's land. Hitting back roads from coast to coast, the two men earn a living by restoring forgotten relics to their former glory, transforming one person's trash into another's treasure. American Pickers follows them as they scour the country for hidden gems in junkyards, basements, garages and barns, meeting quirky characters and hearing their amazing stories. If you think the antique business is all about upscale boutiques and buttoned-up dealers, this show may change your mind--and teach you a thing or two about American history along the way.

I like the idea of the show, and find myself watching it quite often. But I can't stand the two pickers, they need a new crew....

It gets a little tedious at times but I find the people they run into interesting. Some of the best things they have run across have been things they haven't or couldn't get the opportunity to buy. Did you see the one where they found the crazy old man who had built an underground labyrinth with nothing but his bare hands and some scrap lumber? Crazy stuff...

When I saw the thread title, I hoped it was a show about great guitar players

I think that was the best episode yet. They also dealt with the crazy guy who was doubling all their offers.

I like this new one "Storage Wars." Guys bidding on storage units but it's a total crapshoot. Guys can't go into the unit before they offer and kind of interesting to see what they get.
