Ace just wanted to stop by and say Thank you for teaching me My Line. you and QOH have helped me tremendously. This week I hit two 6 team parlays 127/1180 and 50 paying 1123 of course I had to sweat the Falcons game on one of them and then Pittsburgh game on the other lol! In addition I hit a 5 team teaser several 2 team parlays and a bunch of straights. THANKS again!!!

One think I have never understood with Nick's writeups is when he says "the books don't want to move the game off of a 3 because it will fall into the basic teaser strategy". Here's an example:

Interest on Washington +3 has brought the line down to +2½ as we go to press. Some places are sticking on the three and charging extra juice. They don't want to move the underdog into the teaser window when they've already seen support on the dog at the regular line. Washington +8½ would be popular in teasers with everyone who liked them to cover the +3 to begin with.

OK, that's fine but you could just take the teaser off of the +3 anyway and get a +9. It's almost like they need a show of support to see the line move down. I realize that typically the 7 1/2 to 9 1/2 lines are basically dead zones anyway (since most games won't land in that range), but why not get the extra 1/2 point anyway just in case something wacky happens (safety, missed extra point). Seems to me that the real key number would be if the dog was at 1 1/2 and you were scared it would move down to one because then you couldn't pass the 3 and the 7. Am I missing something here?

There are other kinds of teaser! 7 would make a 3 a 10 and some books if it lands on 10 it would be a lost in some cases
Vs moving it off 3 to 3.5 ..... Than it's a 10.5 teaser.... This is why they don't move it..

In most of his write-ups though, he appears to be talking about the 6 point teaser (I'm assuming he thinks sharps wouldn't pay the extra juice for the 6 1/2 or 7 pt teasers). He typically comments about it passing the two key numbers (3 and 7).

That's interesting that a seven point teaser would automatically lose on a 10 (even if you win the other side). I wouldn't play at a book that wouldn't give me a push in that situation (assuming a 2 team teaser here).
