I would like to jump out of a plane just once with a chute.... but think I would chicken out after paying that big money to go up in the plane

I'm down for whatever as long as the survival rate is solid. Pretty sure I'll end up sky diving this upcoming summer. I like to jump off tall objects into the water so I think it is the next step. True story... I jumped off a bridge that was about 25-30 feet tall. Landed in about a foot or two of water. Didn't hurt myself a bit other than my pride when I realized a family was sitting under the bridge right where I came down.

I'd like to fight Mike Tyson
What's stopping me? Well, I couldn't even beat him on Mike Tyson's Punchout

Taking a suborbital flight on SpaceShip One once they're taking passengers. What's keeping me from it? That would be the $100,000 price tag.

Engage the enemy on the battlefield

It means just to have a chance I would have to spend some more months as a recruit again in a training enviornment. Not sure if all those 0400 formations to start antoher 16 hour day is worth it

I think about that also. About 6 months ago i went to talk to the Army about joining Infantry and going to Ranger school. I already did 8 yeats in the Marines from 18-26. I think it would be pretty intense to be in war and it sounds challenging and a once in a lifetime experience. Not many people can say they were in a war. i'm 37 now, but still in good shape. Just not sure if it's a good idea. What's stopping me? The possibility of getting one or all of my body parts blown off.

The number of people who can say they are Rangers or Ragner qualified is a lot less

It might not be the same level of danger as a war, but even making it to the start of Ranger School would be just about one of the hardest things I could do in my life. Let alone make it through. Maybe five to eight years ago. . .

I will do that after I win 1000 and you win 2000 at the Aira poker room 1-2 NL
So you're already making up excuses not to jump...the 1.000 part would be the lesser problem, but me winning 2.000...either way, you could count me in for both: 1/2 at ARIA (or whereever else) and skydiving :)

And I'd love to do big wave surfing or at least ride a tube....but what's keeping me from doing that are my (non-existing) surfing skills ;-)

I should add we are at the same table winning 1 and 2 G's after about 5 hrs of play so that means we will beat the other 7- 8 players there

Thats crazy shit soonerdog. What is your overall take on being over there in the midst of that? Worth it? Scared? Adrenaline pumpin? Not as bad as it seems? Cant imagine not being as bad as it seems. Would you do it all over again knowing what you do now? What branch were you in and did you sign up knowing you were going over there?

1st deployment wasn't bad at all, was stationed on a huge base (FOB Speicher) in tikrit (one of the more U.S. friendly places), 2nd deployment was rough, was part of the surge that got sent in, spent a year living in an iraqi police station in adhymiah, which was the place where we set up walls to split the town in half.....i feel it was worth it, being in such a small area with a lot of fighting when we got there i definitely saw first hand the positive difference we made, i was dispatched to support the scouts, i got to ride out on a few patrols with them but for the most part those guys had it 5x as rough as me, spend all day on a patrol, think you're coming in for some downtime, and BOOM, no sooner than you take your gear off you gotta turn around and roll out again.....i signed up in june of 01, so honestly can't say if i'd do it again knowing that a war's going on, but i like to think that i would.....very proud to have served and made some very good friends who are like family even though i've been out close to 2 years now.....if i ever decide to drive across the U.S., i'd have a place to stay every few hours no matter which route i took.....a great feeling to have
