Vikings turning to rookie?
By Mark J. Miller
The Minnesota Vikings may have signed 31-year-old veteran quarterback Patrick Ramsay to a deal yesterday, but the word is that the team is planning to go with rookie QB Joe Webb this Monday night against the Chicago Bears, according to the St. Paul Pioneer Press. Both Brett Favre and Tarvaris Jackson look like they won't be able to play so the team will go with a player who just made his NFL debut this past weekend, completing two passes in eight attempts and running the ball himself for 16 yards, according to the Minneapolis Star Tribune.
Ramsay has played for eight other teams since getting picked in the first round of 2002's draft. Just this year, his past employers include the Miami Dolphins, Jacksonville Jaguars, and New Orleans Saints.
