Are online casinos rigged?

I've heard from many sportsbooks players to stay away from the casino because they are rigged to some degree. Rigged meaning the individuals who program the casino games give the sportsbook/house a higher mathematical probability than a conventional casino would have. I have also heard the conspiracy that they design it so players have a higher probablity of winning when they first start playing, and then they gradually decrease your success rate after you've have played X amount of cash.

I'm asking this because after roughly 7 years+ offshore sports wagering I played casino games for the first time last night. I was dicking around with the $1 slots on 5dimes, and won $500 after only 15-20 spins. I also did extremely well on blackjack even though I was only dicking around betting $2-$5 a hand.

Would it be wise never to play at that casino again, or do the odds of me potentially winning stay the same?

Any experienced casino players have comments to make pertaining to the casino software most sportsbooks run and if they are manipulated at all??

take the cash and run as fast as you can.

its hard enough to win at a live casino, now you want to do it online with nothing out in the open. play $1-2 bj hands if your bored, but it will eat cash in the long run. Poker is bad too on sites. Hands get cracked far to often compared to real life and sites promote action (giving out good hands to numerous players at a table to draw action at a higher rate)

I wouldn't say rigged. Casino games are set up for the house to have the advantage. There's a reason you don't win consistently... Is it possible to win and go on a nice run? Absolutely! Just don't expect the odds to constantly be in your favor because the house wins in the long run.

Take that money and have a good holiday. And then don't ever look back or think lightning will strike twice.

Took me about 3 different times to learn that lesson the hard way. Luckily that was when my accounts were a couple hundred dollars instead of a couple thousand...'cause once it's 2am and you're by yourself and you've gone on a losing streak, you'll chase till it's all gone...it's a shitty feeling, honestly one of the lowest I've ever felt...

Hey Matt. How are things in Chicago? You thinking of maybe calling Julie? She is going through some real rough stuff and Im thinking you could help her out. Julie has always been whiny, annoying, self-centered, and a slut but she is is still as good looking as ever so i think now is time for you to swoop in. Clear Eyes. Full Hearts. Cant Lose.

They may be rigged, they may not be. It's hard to tell.

I remember Jay Cohen (I think) talking about this once. He said their online BJ couldn't be rigged, because smart players would be able to analyze and figure out trends...which would then let them max out bets on hands they knew would win.

Whatever.

They can claim whatever they want until they are blue in the face, but I don't think there is any way they could prove to any of us with absolute certainty that they aren't rigged. Why take the chance and play for serious money?

How many times has this question been asked. Everyone keeps losing money with a online casino then they are asking, is it rigged.

Most have different difficulty settings, just as a home video game does.

So, it just depends on when, why, and what they have it set on.

Regardless, I've personally had great success online...

agree. but you will not.. as you will think there is more money there like many people to be won and then they get you when you chase.... I think they are rigged to see your betting pattern

books make TONS of money on them thats why they are there , in the long run you will LOSE... But there is that big high that could come from winning 100$ instantly on a online hand that people can not resist until there acct is wiped clean which could be in 4 mins

Agree w/ Dante. I won nearly $1000 playing $1 to $5 hands (a few larger)....then lost about 75% of it in 10 minutes! I quit playing after that quick loss....

Put it this way. I'm already skeptical of people who deal cards or roll the dice. So why in God's Great Name would I put my money with someone who I couldn't see handling the cards or dice?

Screw that noise. I NEVER play online.

Absolutely!!! Look fellas. These multimillion dollar, glitzy, casinos (or online ones for that matter) don't exist cause the players are winning.

That's different from being rigged though. Rigged implies something other than the house advantage and bad play from customers - which is the base Vegas is built on.

Which casino BTW? 5Dimes has several casino products.

Their "Bonus Casino" is best deal out there for players. The software is legit and they've modified payout tables on most games to nearly favor the player. Slots there are 97% I think, which is better than you'll find at most land-based casinos.

All major casino software platforms are honest, they are not rigged. They are deployed in many jurisdictions that require full source-code software audits, Random-Number-Generation audits, historical audits, etc; and simply involve too many employees, contracts, vendors, auditors, etc, to be rigged (grand conspiracies).

That's not to say some shady sportsbook isn't running shady software from some small vendor or in-house developed; but casino software from major vendors like IGT, RTG, DGS, Microgaming, PlayTech, Cryptologic, etc, are not rigged. If the software doesn't look familiar, I'd stay away from it. If it's the same software you've seen at a dozen other online sportsbooks or casinos, you're good.
