What time is the lunar eclipse 2010?

It should start at about 11:41pm PST or 2:41am EST on Tuesday December 21 2010 according to the AP.

The totality phase should last a little over an hour.

NASA recommends viewing the eclipse 3:17 am EST for the optimal viewing time if you don't want to watch the whole thing.

check the cloud cover in your area before setting alarms to view it....no point if you can't see it.

30-40 minutes after midnight for me. I only sleep like 5 hours a night so I'll check it out.

Yup. Wish my camera would capture the stars but it just focuses on the moon because it is bright and centered.

some cloud cover here, but you can see the moon. I think the clouds might be just enough to block out the red you're supposed to see around 3 am EST ?
