A friend invited me to join him for the game against the Giants in Green Bay this weekend. I've never been so excited for anything in all my life! Five months ago I couldn't imagine this is how my year would end....funny how life can take lemons and make lemonade for you, eh?

Who's been to Lambeau? Any recommendations on things we MUST do while we're there? We plan on taking a tour of the stadium on Monday, and of course join in the massive tailgating on Sunday. Anything else???

Also, a hearty merry Xmas to everyone. Be safe, don't drink and drive, and remember to hug 'n kiss your loved ones.

Hi Xpanda,I was at Lambeau about 10 years ago as a friend of mine invited me up for a game and here is what i can remember about going there:

Bar scene is great up in Green Bay all I know and can remember off the top of my head that It was near Brett Favre Steak House across the street and was a pretty big place I know the locals can help you out with the bars.

If you go tailgating the lots at Lambeau fill up real fast as the stadium is right by a residential neighborhood believe or not and suggest getting there no latter than 8 am if you want a spot.If not people that have houses right next to the stadium will let you park on the yard for probably no more than $20 as that what we did when I went to the game as the lady I was with knew the guy who let us park there and we were able to use the bathroom if you had to go and people are very firiendly up in Green bay.

When at the game you will sit on steel bleachers out in the cold and I HIGHLY recommend either a seat cushion or blankets to sit on as you ass will get cold real fast trust me on that. Also dress very warmly with a scarf if the wind is blowing and a good pair of gloves and a nice winter jacket. If you need any other info let me know and I can probably help you out some more. You should be very thankful that you will be able to go to a Packers game as I was told you have a hard time getting tickets to attend a game up there and many locals aren't able to go.

Merry Christmas by the way and glad to see that you are doing better and have a great time at the game ! Gravy (<)<

Fish, I am losing my mind with excitement! The Holy Grail of Football Experiences is only two more sleeps away! Woot!

To those that asked, my health is the same (except that I'm losing my hearing noticeably from month to month). I've been cleared to fly, cleared to do all the normal things I do. Looking at surgery next November, radiation in the meantime. With all that's gone right for me the past couple of months, I sometimes think this diagnosis was a blessing!

Bill, I am going with a Giants fan. :) I'll let you know how his experience was. Me, I'm a Colts fan, but have all the green and yellow gear I could get my hands on for this game. :)

Gravy: thanks for the heads up about getting there early. It's a 3:15 CST start and we planned to arrive for 10 am. Hopefully that will be okay. Seat warmers are a must!

Merry Christmas, everyone! Be well, safe and happy!

Woot!

Great to hear from you and hope you have a great time at the game. Stay warm ! I get to go to the Oregon/Auburn game in a few weeks... I think it will be a bit warmer there ! Take care and good health to you.

hey panda - i will be there as well (from Wisconsin, usually go to 4-5 games per year)

Tailgating is the best part (obviously) - there are plenty of bars and tailgate parties before the game.

Stadium View is pretty popular as they serve booze/beer outside and inside, have random shops, etc.. (but plent yof other bars on 3 sides of the stadium - Krolls, Sidelines, etc..)

As everyone said - dress warm! especially since you are sitting on bleachers and concrete floor so it can get chilly.

have fun!

i will be there for bears game too with (hopefully) a playoff spot on the line

drink plenty of beer to keep you warm.
