I bought a 2008 Range Rover Sport HSE V8 on December 15, but due to circumstances, I feel it is in my best interest to sell the car.

I paid a total $42,500 out the door, including TT&L

I bought it from a wholesaler, sticker was 39,900 with 19K mileage.

I am proposing to the seller, that I can sell it back to him for $38,400 or $37,900. They can unload the car for the same price they got it. Car didn't have mats and updated Navi Disk, added both myself for a total of $560. I am really trying to take a hit of $3500 or less, if possible. Also, the wholesaler helps buyers finance, i paid cash for the car, so now they could resell the car, make $2K or $3K off of me and still resell it for the same price I paid and finance their next buyer.

Anyone have any insight into what I can realistically ask for the car and also, how does sales tax work for someone like me. Would they be required to pay it since, I am private seller (i would assume so). Never sold a car before.

Thanks

You'd probably get more like 35k selling it back to the place you bought it from. Maybe the 40k you want selling it privately. You're certainly out sales taxes. I doubt the seller can pay you back what you want....unless there might be some cancellation clause since this only like 3 weeks ago ?
