the explanation is they are WACKO's

Actually your body paralyzes itself during REM sleep, so you don't act out your dreams, some people become conscious while they're still in the paralyzed state.

If anyone here with a lot of free time wants to do this.

Set the alarm to wake you up after 6 hours of sleep.

Wake up and be active around the house for an hour or so.

When you start getting drowsy again you can go back to bed.

Whatever........The paralysis isn't from a condition, it's from the freakin black figure floating in the dark corner of the room that won't allow you to move or scream!

LOL and by that I'm admitting this whatever they claim it to be has happened to me years ago.

Ahhhh......But there's more to my story that makes me wonder...

their have been times when i've been awake ( i think ) laying in bed and have the feeling someone has come into the room and i cant move .. after about 30 or 45 seconds , my body will unfeeeze.

what i find odd is the number of times i wake up and one of my arms is numb and feels like it weighs 200 pounds . i have to use my other arm to pick it up and move it. i try to not sleep with my arm above my head or heart , but sometimes it just happens .

I had a dream that I was sitting on the pot and couldn't have a movement. Is that the same thing?

Its real I have had it since I was a little kid. Absolutely horrifying the first few times it happened to me. You wake up completely, and you can only move your body just so slightly. So sometimes you can get your eyelids open if you try very hard. Or move your finger barely. You can also make very quiet sounds. You are totally awake, you are not the least bit asleep and you are paralyzed. Over time I have learned to "jerk" myself out of it. Like I build up a lot of emotion and jerk myself real hard, trying to move and get out of it. Sometimes this works after a few times. I have to rest between "jerks". After about 5 minutes or so it goes away, your muscles are just released from paralysis all of a sudden. But it is totally horrifying when it first happens to you. It caused me to sleep with my parents for years as a child.

I don't get it nearly as much as I have gotten older but it pops out of nowhere and to this day it still scares me pretty bad.

I have never seen anybody though unless somebody is sleeping next to me and it happens then. Nor have I felt anybody touch me. I can't imagine if I saw somebody while this was happening, I would have a heart attack. It is terrifying enough without seeing a "creature" attacking you.

this happened 2 years ago I felt awake and couldn't move, it felt like someone was pinning me down and I couldn't make anyone out but there was a dark shape on me and it was freaking me out because I couldn't move at all, so I started yelling my girlfriends name to wake her up and it didnt wake her and I kept fighting to move and I suddenly snapped out of it and sat up in bed to catch my breath my heart was racing it seemed real.
another thing is that I cant run in my dreams its in slow motion as if I have lead feet.

Experienced this several times a few years ago when I was experimenting with astral projection. Not a good feeling, also had times when I felt my entire body was being squeezed.

Guessing this phenomenon has to do with negative entities trying to feed off our energy.
