In the Bay Area, Thai, Vietnamese, etc. restaurants are everywhere and I dine regularly. I have had this soup, seafood with noodle soup more times then I can count. Shrimp, Scallops, Calamari, Fish Balls. Hmm! Love it!

I hear you. I wasn't either. Yet, I've been going to Thailand so many times, that my eating habits invariably changed and evolved. I am now a seafood fan all the way. The variety of "fresh" seafood there (in Thailand) is incredible. Not "farm raised," but "wild" caught. Squid, snake fish, jumbo shrimp, prawns, etc. - just fantastic.
Seafood is not for everyone, but I believe my diet change will perhaps add an additional 5 to 10 years to my life. Healthy eating for sure.

When I'm in Thailand, I have this soup (with noodles as well) EVERY day. I never get sick of the it! Yummy! @)
I prefer Tom Ka Gai which is coconut milk, lime and chicken along with the other stuff. The "tom" soups are supposedly cancer fighters.
I also love Vietnamese Phở which is rice noodle soup. I especially like to mix Hoisin Sauce and Sriracha sauce and dip the noodles and meat in it.
