Have you ever been banned from a sportsbook?

I've heard a lot of rumors about Sportsbooks banning individuals that have relatively long term, consistent success. I've also heard that they look at things like line value as an important metric, possibly one more important than money earned.

Have any of you been banned? I'm curious what books are more aggressive than others and what the given reasons might be. Also, what threshold do you think they look at? Is it about the dollars, or consistency of winning (or line value)?

Not true.

Some books have no tolerance for winning clients.

Or clients who bet into certain numbers on a consistent basis.

How can a book ban you. Legally, if your playing by the rules they've posted?

It's real simple. You beat them out of too much money and they simply tell you that they don't want your action anymore. Then they pay off your balance and close your account. It's a business and their not in it to lose money.

I've NEVER understood that reasoning. A business cannot discriminate against an individual because of their race , creed, color, religion.ect....If their open for business, and you DO NOT do anything illegal, and play by the rules in their establishment.....just because your luck is leaning in your favor, how do they have the right to shut you down legally. It works both ways. It's a public place. Not a private club. If their losing their asses at say blackjack, seems they have the right to shut down "Blackjack in their operation. To EVERYONE. In other words...were losing our asses so were not offering blackjack at this location. But to single out an individual because they are winning by their OWN rules and procedures...doesn't seem right..or legal to me. Those rules are not spelled out when you walk into the building that if you win more than you lose they have the right to kick you out for no other reason. I'm evidently wrong because this has been going on forever and at least i've never heard of it being challenged. Someone help me out here.

Then they should close the book down if their losing money. They shouldn't be able to close down your account if your playing by the rules. That's discrimination.

There is no regulation at an Offshore Sportsbook......They can do anything they want. If they don't want a player they can close the players account and that's it. Most of them have that in their rules. You are at the mercy of the book.

Good theory but these sports book are not American and they don,t have to follow any of the race, religion, color etc. you have mentioned. I got kicked out of Carib and they just sent me a check, closed my account and said " Sorry We don,t want your business ". What can I do ? Nothing !
