I go into my bank account and see that a $300 check I received as a withdrawal from a prominent book was "returned". Fees out the ass for the returned check, fees for being negative, and possibly more to come as things potentially bounce when they are posted.

And of course it is late on a Friday and I have no way to contact the bank about it until Monday morning. Awesome! Going to be a long weekend as I wonder what the hell is going on!

I contacted the book, and we will see what happens, but I needed to vent a bit. This happen to anyone else recently?

Checks bouncing because of $300? Think you have more important issues to tackle.

if it was from sportsbook.com you are in trouble for while they burned me with a few bad checks bank said there was no money in that account. i deposited a nice sum into my savings and then withdrew a bunch couple weeks later they said the check was no good and i was short a bunch in my savings had to borrow to cover their fuck up eventually after about 5 mo ths, they sent me a another check and i drove a few hours to their bank to see if it was good and i was surprised but i never deal with them again

I haven't deposited or played in almost a year. This was my first toe dip back into the offshore waters in a long time. And this happens? Still pissed.

$300 or $3,000. This shouldn't happen, right? And the reason I asked the question was to determine if anyone else had recent problems. Could the check have been bad? Or could my bank possibly have not accepted it because of some gambling flag was tripped? Either way, I assume my account will be credited back the funds, hopefully for the full fees as well.

And yeah, this is a huge issue for other reasons that apparently I am not allowed to talk about here.

Thanks for the response JoeyP. It was not Sportsbook.com

I don't know why the check was returned. It did not say NSF, only "returned fee".

The only reason I didn't immediately name the book is because I don't even know if the book is at fault. And my purpose wasn't to warn people or complain about the book. I just wanted to know if other people had anything similar happen (whether bank or book)?

I absolutely hate when people complain on here and then refuse to name the book involved. So... it was BetJamaica.

Yes, I know. My funds are safe. Yes, I know. This will get resolved. Yes, I have already emailed Scotty. He has been great to me over the years and will undoubtedly get to the bottom of it, one way or another. I am more concerned going forward. If this is the bank's fault, I will be done offshore for reasons that are likely obvious to anyone living in Arizona.

Obviously there is no need for me to get involved if Scotty has already has been notified. I will just say what ever the problem was it is not because Betjamaica is out of funds. I will call Scotty if requested but if he is already working on the problem it will do little good for me to intervene.

Best of luck to BROMOX...wilheim

I know Bromo doesnt want lip service, he just wants his money, but i can honestly say, if i ever had any issue like this, i would be hard pressed to think of ANYONE i would rather have to count on to get it fixed than Scotty.....He'll make it right and then some, i would almost guarantee.....its some kind of mix up somewhere, or like Bromo said, might even be his bank flagged it for some reason, and may not even be BJam's fault...but i bet they STILL make it right..

I went ahead and looked into this for you in case you hadnt had the chance......

It seems a long standing solid Canadian processor lost another account therefore causing some brief issues for BetJM, The Greek, and a few other books that utilize this processor..... They assure me it has nothing to do with financial security of any of these books. Chalk another inconvenience caused by the continued efforts of Uncle Sam......

I was also told by Betjam that anyone needing any assistance should simply call the book involved and asked to speak to a Manager for quickest resolution....

IMO the book should be responsible for any fees this person incurs.

as i stated, i have NO DOUBT that Scotty will make it right....in this case, it's really not anyone's fault, however, i am confident Scotty will make him whole again.....as far as him incurring fees from other boounced checks, i doubt that comes into play as they cant be responsible for all that...but any return fees from this check would certainly be fair

actually, in this case, since they KNOW what happened....its very likely the processor would reimburse him for his fees...any that can be proven to have occurred based on this particular check....not that they could help the issue, but it is due to their situation, i think they would probably make it right..

END RESULT

So, the check was returned NSF. Like Bucs said above, this was apparently a problem of one of the processors used by BetJam. I had an email from Scotty waiting for me when I woke up. I checked with the bank, confirmed the bank fee and additional charges for two bounced checks that were denied as a result. Scotty had the money in my account an hour later covering everything.

As for the check, the bank is redepositing and Scotty says it will clear. We'll know for sure in 10 days, but all fees have taken care of immediately.

Thanks Scotty. Still the best...

glad to hear Bromo........Had no real doubt that Scotty would make all good...glad it was done so quickly...and hopefully this is an isolated incident with the processor.....he wouldnt have told you to redeposit if he wasnt SURE it would be ok this time.......glad your fees were covered too......thats why people keep going back to betjam...even where there is a problem, it is short-lived, and made rigth for the customer
