Dirk Nowitzki - F - Mavericks

Dirk Nowitzki still isn't sure of when he'll return from his knee injury, although it sounds like it should happen some time next week.
After Saturday's game, in which Dirk will not play, the Mavs are off until Wednesday at Indiana. His latest tweet leaves a lot for the imagination, but he doesn't sound like a guarantee to play on Wednesday, leaving owners in weekly leagues with a tough decision. When asked when he would play again on Saturday, Dirk tweeted: "Hope to be back on our 4 game roadtrip next week". . Jan. 8 - 3:10 p.m. ET

Kenyon Martin - F - Nuggets

Kenyon Martin and Chris Andersen are expected to miss Sunday's game due to lingering soreness in their knees.
Martin is going to be in and out of the lineup as he recovers from knee surgery, while Andersen might be a more reliable option once he gets into a groove after surgery of his own. . Jan. 8 - 4:20 p.m. ET

Gerald Wallace - F - Bobcats

Gerald Wallace has been ruled out for Saturday's game due to his lingering ankle injury.
Wallace has a bone bruise and the only cure is rest. There's a chance he'll return for Monday's game vs. Memphis, giving him a full slate of games next week, so check back on Sunday for possible updates. Jan. 8 - 5:26 p.m. ET

Matt Barnes - G/F - Lakers

Matt Barnes has a torn lateral meniscus in his right knee -- there is no official timetable but he is expected to miss several weeks.
Barnes will have surgery early next week, after which more should be known. The Lakers have already called up forward Devin Ebanks, but Barnes' minutes are more likely to fall to Ron Artest and Shannon Brown. Jan. 8 - 6:04 p.m. ET

Tyrus Thomas - F - Bobcats

Tyrus Thomas will play on Saturday despite battling the flu.
Thomas might have a sluggish game, considering he's under the weather, or he might break out with Charlotte's frontcourt decimated by injuries. Jan. 8 - 5:44 p.m. ET

Tyreke Evans - G - Kings

Tyreke Evans is doubtful for Saturday's game vs. the Raptors after rolling ankle against Denver on Thursday.
Ouch. Evans is coming off one of his best games of the season and finally looked like the fantasy stud we expected to see. If he can't suit up, Jermaine Taylor is the most likely player to start in his place. Jan. 8 - 7:14 p.m. ET

Aaron Brooks - G - Rockets

Rockets PG Aaron Brooks (ankle) will miss another game on Saturday.
Kyle Lowry has another chance to step up with 35+ minutes, though he's been surprisingly quiet for the past week. Consider Brooks day-to-day until we get an update. Jan. 8 - 7:48 p.m. ET
