No clue, last year was huge return, but I cut back on witholding this year, why let Obama bank it for me? We will see, but will be just before the 15th, as wife has her own business and it takes her account forever to get it all together

I do have a question, I was supposed to get back around 5000 last year but never filed. So do I need to file twice this year? Will their be a penalty for not filing last year, even though I was going to receive money?

Last I read if you plan to itemize your taxes you have to wait until mid-february due to some changes to the tax code

I would guess he is kidding no one would not file to get 5K back.. and no if they owe you they do not care if you ever file and you will need to file and amendment return for 2010

Ok, thanks. Actually I went on the last day to file and had problems with my dependent, after I got things figured out all the tax places were closed in my area. Just didn't feel like dealing with it, plus was working a lot so it was hard to find time.

I've always paid my taxes a year behind. Just paid 09 state income, yes you pay a penalty but if you're entitled to your refund you can do it at any time

There is not a single reason the government should get interest free money on top of the taxes we already pay.

you have until April 15, 2013 to file your 2009 return, otherwise you lose your refund. You have up to 3 years from the due date to file your return to claim a refund. There will be no penalties.

I consider myself an intelligent numbers guy but I never have a clue what my refund will be until my tax guy figures it out.

As long as I get the 1K education credit (I read on the Fed website that it was only for 09 and 2010 so I SHOULD be getting it), I should be getting around $1400 like last year. Nice.
