Water Main break in my community. What to do RX?

I've been without water for 4hrs and feel so dirty.....

Rather go into the snowy woods behind my house to number 2 instead of a local fast food chain.

Thinking of melting down some snow to fill up the back of my toilet to flush.

My water froze this past sunday morning, I was half the day under the house to fix it. You don't miss things until they are gone.

So true. I never noticed how many times I wash my hands....use the bathroom...just to wipe my face. Basic needs of life. If I lived next to a water canal I could make do better than I am today.

Now anytime the windshield temperature is below 0 or it is calling for a storm, I fill both bath tubs up with water just incase.

Actually filling the toilet tank with snow isnt a bad idea. Should melt pretty quick and once u have the lid off u can see the water line.

just melt the snow in a pot , pack the snow really tight to get as much as you can at a time.
had to do it before when my water pump died

It took 3 huge pots full and it still didn't fill toilet. I was shocked.

Thankfully just when I was about to dig up more snow....the water came back.
