Rex: It's '2nd biggest' game in our history

Coach Rex Ryan yesterday called Sunday's AFC divisional playoff game against the Patriots one of the two biggest in Jets history. But are his players -- still stinging from the rout they suffered last month at New England -- on board with that assessment?
"The hay is in the barn. We're ready," Ryan said yesterday. "We are ready to go. We're making that trip up and we're going to show up. I guarantee you that.
"For anybody who thinks it's going to be the same exact outcome that it was last time, I don't think that's true. I don't believe that's a fact."
The Jets finished up their week of practice yesterday, and at 4:30 p.m. tomorrow in Foxborough, Mass., they will battle the top-seeded Patriots for the chance to head to the AFC Championship game. The last time the Jets played in New England, on Dec. 6, it didn't go well. It was, in fact, a disaster: Patriots 45, Jets 3.
Forget that debacle, the Jets said. This time will be different.
"We're more than ready, man," Jerricho Cotchery told The Post. "It's been a long week. [We've] been preparing like crazy the entire week for this game. We're excited about having the opportu nity to move a step closer to our goal. It's just a lot of ex citement.
"Guys are ready for Sunday."
The Patriots (14-2) are unbeaten in eight games at home this year. Their two losses came at the Jets, 28-14, in Week 2 and at Cleveland, 34-14, in Week 9. Bill Belichick's team, which had a bye last week as the AFC's top seed, has won eight games in a row.
Tom Brady, Wes Welker and the rest of the Patriots are averaging an impressive 37.4 points during that stretch. The fewest points the Patriots have scored in any of those eight games is 31. Those numbers might scare some coaches, but not Ryan.
"One thing I can tell you right now, we have plenty of respect for them up there, but we don't fear them," Ryan said. "I can promise you that. We do not fear them. We respect them and we're going [there] to win the game. . . . We know we have to go out and take it and that's what we plan on doing."
The Patriots clobbered the Jets by 42 points a month ago, have a history of championship success and are playing at home.
To Ryan's thinking, that makes tomorrow's showdown momentous.
"Obviously Super Bowl III being the most," Ryan said. "But I think [this game] would be even more so than last year's Indianapolis [AFC Championship] game.
"This without question will be the second-biggest game in the history of the franchise."
Defensive tackle Sione Pouha said the atmosphere at Gillette Stadium will be "crazy." But Pouha said the Jets have worked tirelessly for this contest.
"This has been a good week's preparation. Every guy knows that this is an essential game, man. There's no more next week. It's either this one or nothing," Pouha said. "So every man's putting effort into this week. Extreme, just exhaustion effort mentally, physically in getting ready for this game."
And like Ryan, safety Brodney Pool said the Jets are ready -- and will put that December rout behind them.
"We didn't put our best foot forward [last time] for whatever reason," Pool said. "But this time we know that they're standing in our way of getting to our ultimate goal and that's to get to the Super Bowl and win it.
"Everybody's embracing that and we want to get to our ultimate goal."

First he makes a comment to try and take the pressure off his team(BB VS Rex), and just two days before the game he tries to put pressure back on his team.
