was chatting w a buddy of mine who was telling me that the loss of the starting center is huge for a team. the center is the main guy on the line that helps direct the other o lineman and has alot to do w reading the def line and direction of the play. it seemed to have this affect on the steelers in the second half yesterday against the jets if you seen the game. i forget some of the stat's concerning thihs but it was one of the main reason's my friend grabbed gb - 2.5 as soon as he could...thought's from other's???:smoker2:
Pouncey expects to play he told Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
Even though he suffered a high-ankle sprain against the New York Jets, Pittsburgh Steelers Pro Bowl rookie center Maurkice Pouncey(notes) expects to return in time to play in the Super Bowl against the Green Bay Packers.
"Most definitely," Pouncey told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. "I had this same injury before on my other ankle and I know how to attack it. I know how to approach things. I know in my heart I'm playing in that game."
Pouncey said he was able to hear a pop in his ankle when he got rolled up on.
"It was the worst pain ever," Pouncey said.
Pouncey said he once had an injury in the same category when he was at the University of Florida.
And he played in the next game.
