First off I respect this franchise and how they go about doing business. They don't spend money in free agency, they develop their own players, don't have a heavy turnover rate with coaches and have a dedicated fan base and following.

However I have noticed that it seems like no other team has an easier route to the Super Bowl year in and year out than the Steelers. Lets face it the Bengals and Browns are horrible franchises and the Steelers get to play those punching bags twice a year. The Ravens have a great defense but their offense is nothing to write home about. So the Steelers pretty much every year are guaranteed 5 divisional wins every year. If they finish the rest of their schedule 6-5 then they are pretty much handed a first round bye and a home playoff game.

come on are you serious? both west divisions are the worst in the nfl, every other year the winner of those divisions finishes at 8-8 or 9-7 tops, then you got this year with the seahawks at 7-9, those divisions are the jokes of the nfl.

That is exactly my point. All of those teams in the other division equally competitive with one another so they split division wins with one another. They don't earn first round byes with 9-7 records. The Steelers on the other hand after going to the Superbowl in 2008 played a 1st place schedule in 2009 and ended up with a 9-7 record. Then this year with the benefit of a 3rd place schedule they get to play Oakland and Tennessee and avoid Indy and San Diego so they parlayed that into a 11-5 schedule without their starting QB for the first 4 games.

The Steelers are an above average team don't get me wrong but THAT team getting a double dose of Ohio every year is like spotting them a 4-0 record against the rest of the conference. They can sleepwalk to a first round bye like they did this year.

Its almost envy I feel for your boys Dante. They go out win the Superbowl in 2008. Party in 2009 then earn a 3rd place schedule for the following year. Then in 2010 play 11 games vs teams under .500. Starting the season with your 3rd string QB at that. Earn the home field bye and back to the Super Bowl again.

Flacco is a premier QB and he gets better every year

Premier in what world? He isn't asked to do much at all and still hasn't been premier. Rely on the run game and make a few throws. He is above average but plenty of better QBs and struggled plenty vs Steelers

OK out come the crying towels. First off, they played 8 teams under .500, not 10, and they beat all of them, like playoff teams are supposed to do. The remaining 8 were against .500 and above, 5 that made the playoffs, which they split. New England and New Orleans each lost to Cleveland. Baltimore and SD each lost to Cincy. Pittsburgh lost to neither. Indy lost to 3 to sub .500 teams. KC to 2, Philly to 4 Chi to 1 GB to 3 and NO to 2. Pittsburgh has now played against 10, .500 and above teams to a 6-4 record. Dante, how above a little bit more love for the black and gold baby.

Lot of divisions are lopsided or essentially between two teams only HOS, not just AFC North

The one thing you have overlooked here HOS and the main thing IMO is that the three times the Steelers have advancd to the Superbowl in the past 6 years, they have managed to avoid the New England Patriots in the playoffs!

Steelers cannot beat them. They get outcoached & outsmarted essentially every time. I for one was happy to see the Jets knock them out as our season wouldve ended in Foxboro.

Honestly, I cannot believe the Steelers are in the Superbowl again. I picked them to finish 3rd in the division this year. They really arent that good. Rex Ryan called it when he said their offense is like "organized streetball." There is no consistency or fluency to the offensive attack.
(By the way....Terrible coaching job by Marvin Lewis yet he retains his job. That was his most talented team in Cincy. It seems the players just do not respond to him. Anyways......)

It was a down year for the NFL all around. Very mediocre teams. No clear cut solid runaway favorite. Both GB and Pitt have holes. Should be a good game though.
I thought NE-Pitt were best AFC teams in playoffs, and GB-Philly were best NFC teams in.

When you hear NFL players and coaches talk about the importance of winning those division games and building your team to beat the teams in your division it is very convincing. I just don't see Tomlin lobbying in the war room to draft some DB's to shut down that Browns pass attack or getting some run stoppers to stuff that Bengals rushing game. I bet the Steelers players get an extra day off during Browns and Bengals week. Even Hines Ward was laughing at how much a joke his division is after they bet the Ravens in the playoffs.

All in all the Steelers have to beat the teams that are on their schedule to get the Super Bowl and they DO do that year in and year out. It just has to be nice you constantly have two teams in your division forever in the rebuilding mode and not competing to rip the division title from you.

IF the Steelers win Super Bowl XLV they will have claimed 15% of the Super Bowl titles. 7 of 45! That's insane.

Nobody has won more NFL Titles than Green Bay ! Look it up ! Just because someone changed the name from NFL Champion to Super Bowl Champion doesn't mean that Green Bay hasn't won all those Titles under Vince Lombardi !

Thus the wording as Super Bowls.

Sorry but to us old timers, I see way too many youngsters that actually believe that the Steelers are the biggest Title winners ! Green Bay easily holds that title and they will only increase their margin after this years NFL title game {AKA Super Bowl game } !:lolBIG:
