i got 2 - 1 was " we were wiseguys and didn't know it" from scotty s who posts here sometimes, its mostly about the glory days in vegas in the 70's and 80's. It was an entertaining read from start to finish. Also got Lay the favorite which was good too.

Lay the favorite is about some chick born in Pittsburgh that got involved with sports betting, right?

Scotty's book is great. Really explains how they took action from the PC Boys and still made a "living"! Also, the book that told the story of how Michael xxxxx worked for Billy Walters in the 90's. Both were great reads and should be read by everyone here.

I liked both "Lay the Favorite" and "We Were Wise Guys and Didn't Know It." Scotty posts across the street.

I read a couple good ones lately...
First was "One of A Kind: the Rise and Fall of Stuey "The Kid" Ungar". The guy never had a job, never had a high school diploma, his father was an illiterate bookie. He didn't even have a social security no until he won the World Series of Poker (he had to get one in order to get his money). He won the WSOP 3 times. He lost countless $millions on sports and other casino games but always managed to win it back and more at poker and gin... pretty amazing story.

The other was "Personal Foul; A First-Person Account of the Scandal That Rocked the NBA" by Tim Donaghy. He tells everything.... he names players & refs & owners who hate each other etc. He tells which players never foul out (the superstars; they're the ones the fans come to see) He gives a detailed account of the time he spent in the slam... good book.
