In year 2010, I did not work at all. All I did was gambling. So I thought I don't have anything to file since I did not work. But casinos sent me an email stating I can print out tax form online.... from one casino, I lost little over 50k.... so obvisouly, i didn't win any money... in this case, do i still have to file them and if i do, do I get anything back from IRS(I doubt it)....?

There is no need to file. Gambling losses can only be deducted to the extent of your winnings.

^^^^^^

unless you're a professional gambler, then you can argue that gambling is your business

create an NOL that can be carried back and/or forward

but it's not easy, and it will open up a whole new can of worms
