It could happen. But OU and OSU aren't necessarily in the same boat as Texas A&M.

Oklahoma State in the SEC would be dangerous as they have the money to compete immediately & they might even step their game up in new conference digs.

OSU is dangerous. Especially at home. But they need to get a defense before they can compete with the SEC. Same goes for Texas A&M.

I'd like to believe that we're on the verge of a 16-team super conference and it's going to be another fun off-season, but there just hasn't been any talk as of late.

Boy, could you imagine?

SEC East: Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, Florida, Kentucky, South Carolina, Tennessee, Vanderbilt
SEC West: Arkansas, LSU, Mississippi, Mississippi State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas, Texas A&M

No one would match that conference.

Big XII wouldn't fold, and I'm sure they would unite the leftover SWC members + "we're looking for an invite to an autobid conference after being stranded" BYU.

Big-8 leftovers + 2 (Big XII North): Air Force, BYU, Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State, Missouri
SWC leftovers (Big XII South): Baylor, Houston, Rice, SMU, TCU, Texas Tech

One can dream...

Don't understand the point of a 16-team conference.

Let's just assume a 16-team SEC. So Florida would play Oklahoma every 8-10 years?

What's the point? Why even be in the same conference?

I know, TV money. But it will absolutely ruin rivalries and traditional conference play.
