the above mentioned are classics...and with so many to choose from..i gotta go with his portrayal of a one Austin Milbarge in 'Spies Like Us'...him and chevy from their opening scenes together have me laughing as i type....close 2nd fer me is his role as Harry Sultenfuss in 'My Girl'...totally an aside from his comedic roles...and very human like....maybe seems like a gay movie to some..but totally heartfelt movie...and i would be remiss if i didn't mention his role in 'Grosse Point Blank'...always dug the random chaos of that movie...cheers

My favorite is Dragnet.
He got Jack Webb to perfection.

i loved both blues brothers movies, however, i think his best acting actually came in "Driving Miss Daisy"...he did a great job as her son, and i actually think he was nominated for a supporting oscar if not mistaken......it wasnt a real funny role, but he did a GREAT JOB in that movie....

Of course, he was great in trading places as well, one of my fav's from the 80's..

Played off Eddie Murphy like the pro that he is in Trading Places, vastly underrated movie.

p.s. Jamie Lee Curtis showing us her fun bags didn't hurt either.

Favorite Dan Aykroyd Movie: Toss up between Blues Brothers and Trading Places

Favorite Role: Trading Places

Although Trading Places is one of my favorite movies, his best role was in Dragnet.

Have to go with trading places too, loved that movie

Well, this is a tough one. Really tough. It comes down to Nothing But Trouble and Doctor Detroit. These two are BY FAR Aykroyd's best movies. So hard to choose. But, Doctor Detroit wins out because the role that Aykroyd plays is so true to his real life personality. The prostitutes that he is pimping out are so lovable and being prostituted by Aykroyd is so much just like his real life. I LOVE this movie.

Nothing But Trouble runs a really close second to the best comedy of all time. Watching people get murdered on a roller coaster and then stripped of all their skin and fluids so that only bones are left and watching the bones build up in the basement, ahhhhh nothing gets better. And the makeup and costuming. The two sons, wearing nothing but loincloth, just like two Tarzans. And all the comedy. Well, you just feel like laughing when you watch people get murdered by an insane judge on a roller coaster.

I can't say enough for these two movies. And I hate all of Aykroyd's other movies.

I would have to say "Trading Places" as well.

The scene I always remember when someone mentions his name is in "1941" when he was knocked on the head so he was delirious. He had panty hose over his head with a couple oranges in there and he said "I'm a bug!"

:):)

Another thing I remember about Aykroyd wasn't in a movie. It was at Belushi's funeral where he rode a motorcycle. I thought that was a nice touch.

I found a link to that scene I was talking about but it doesn't embed:
