JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Championship football is coming to Jacksonville this weekend. But it's not your typical pigskin players. Instead, some would say they are a lot prettier.
The Lingerie Football League is holding its conference championships at the Veterans Memorial Arena on Saturday at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m.
"It's going to be an amazing game," said Natalie Jahnke, who plays for the Los Angeles Temptation.
"The first hit you're like, you shake off your shoulders, 'All right, game on,'" added Mikayla Wingle, of the Tampa Breeze.
The fierce competitors said this is not a fashion show, but real smash-mouth, gridiron football.
"Once they hear lingerie football, 'Oh, it's sexy. It's lingerie,'" Jahnke said. "When you watch it for two minutes, you actually see that we're delivering serious hits and tackles."

"Its contact. It's full contact," Wingle said. "I actually had a fractured rib the first two months of the season."
The league's owner said there may even be room for a team to call Jacksonville home next season, something some River City residents said wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing.
"I might go see it just to see what it's all about and just for the fun of it," Jacksonville resident Carol Snider said.
"My first thought would be, 'Uh, I don't think so,' but given a little bit of curiosity or depending on who's going, I'd check it out just to see," resident Carrie Parker said.
"It's that same kind of fun as the roller derby," added resident Donnie Dagley. "The girls have fun. They're having a good time. I've been to plenty of those."
For now, Jacksonville football fans have to be satisfied with just a sample of what the league can offer, which the jocks said is nothing short of real football.
"Once you see the first hit in the game, your jaws drop," Wingle said. "You're like, 'Wow, this is real football."
"Don't let this pretty face fool you, because I can get down and dirty with the best of them," Jahnke said.
