Wish I had the money back too blew about 1.3 million on gambling losses from 96 to 09. One positive is I am still relatively young and can work to make it back and more.

About 20 years for me. I've lost more than I've won, but nothing I can't afford to lose. I've learned a lot, but I don't always pay attention to what I've learned over the years. $$:($$

23 now, started at 16. So 7 years. Trying to turn it EXTREMELY casual because up to this point what I've lost (easily 15K maybe more) hasn't completely ruined my life yet but it's left me scratching and clawing for months at a time. But I don't want to be a problem gambler at age 30 if I'm trying to have a strong career or a family. As young struggling college kid, it's tempting to get a book and try to lay $200 or $300 bets to make some quick scores and have big weeks. When you only make about 300/week it is WAY too tempting. If I can get in the habit of enjoying $25 or $30 bets, I'm more likely to keep it small for the future.
