it amazes me how steadfast some people are about raising from the button every time.....

say you're playing .05/.10 (or whatever, do the fucking math).....there's 15 cents in the pot starting out.....say there's 2 early limpers.....now there's 35 cents....Mr. Button makes it .60 to go.....so he's starting out risking 60 cents to win a 35 cent pot.....he gets a couple callers, it gets checked, and he throws out a C-bet of let's say $1.....now he's risked a total of $1.60 to steal a pot that only had 35 cents to start out with.....most of the time, if he gets called here he is ready to give it up on the turn, or if he gets raised he folds.....seems like it isn't worth it to be an automatic button raiser.....

i'll certainly raise with a wider range of hands on the button, say a PP like 5's or even J/10, but it just doesn't seem worth it to do it every time, even with hands like 6/2.....is the amount in the pot justifying the preflop raise and, most of the time, a C-bet? i love seeing a guy with bullshit on the button get caught up with bottom 2 pair like 6/2 and lose his whole stack....shoulda never been in the pot in the first place you LOSER~~:<<

i guess the main advantage i see from being an auto button raiser is it could set up your big hands because most folks will think you're bullshitting and play back at you when you have the nuts, but most people i see at my level don't have the skill to maintain their stack until they catch a monster

just doesn't make much sense to me to continually be risking 3 to 1 (and usually more since i'm a C-bettor probably 80% of the time) when you have garbage

If I see that a button raiser is raising with a wide range, I will 3-bet him with a wide range.
