ObamaCare Flatlines: ObamaCare Taxes Home Sales - Clobbers Middle-Class Americans
Posted April 8, 2010
“I can make a firm pledge. Under my plan, no family making less than $250,000 a year will see any form of tax increase. Not your income tax, not your payroll tax, not your capital gains taxes, not any of your taxes,”
President Obama, September 12, 2008

Beginning January 1, 2013, ObamaCare imposes a 3.8% Medicare tax on unearned income, including the sale of single family homes, townhouses, co-ops, condominiums, and even rental income.

In February 2010, 5.02 million homes were sold, according to the National Association of Realtors. On any given day, the sale of a house, townhome, condominium, co-op, or income from a rental property can push middle-income families over the $250,000 threshold and slam them with a new tax they can’t afford.

This new ObamaCare tax is the first time the government will apply a 3.8 percent tax on unearned income. This new tax on home sales and unearned income and other Medicare taxes raise taxes more than $210 billion to pay for ObamaCare. The National Association of Realtors called this new Medicare tax on unearned income “destructive” and “ill-advised” and warned it would hurt job creation.

Obama doesnt get it - the majority of people want minorities to work - we dont need creative ways to get our money to provide new services to those unable to take care of themselves

No need to get overworked by this - Obama care has been ruled unconsitutional and will be upheld in time and Barry only has 23 months left

You might want to check Snopes for the more nuanced truth.

It is possible for a real estate sale to trigger a small amount of tax, but in actuality it would probably apply to less than 1% of sales.

The whole system is a fraud. The people of this country are being robbed and stolen from by the gov & banksters!

I just learned about this whole system a year ago myself. People need to really start reading stuff & watching documentaries.

We have been hood winked since 1913 & now they are really getting desperate and trying to steal everything under the sun to keep propping up their ponzi scheme financial system they set in place 100 years ago.

Taxes, stealing pensions, etc........there is no end and thye have no backbone!

Watch "The Money Masters" if you havent yet. It should still be on You Tube.

ROFL. "more nuanced truth"

Snopes is run by a couple in California that are big Obama supporters, and has long been accused of a liberal bias.

Sunday, March 28, 2010 http://mommylife.net/mt-static/html/editor-content.html?cs=utf-8 Snooping On Snopes

There has been much speculation about the validity of information provided by self-proclaimed "urban legend" debunkers Snopes and FactCheck. I decided to take a closer look.

http://www.snopes.com/
David and Barbara Mikkelson are the owners of Snopes and essentially provide much of their own research from their home in California's lush San Fernando Valley. About 2 hours of searching Snopes' site on political issues reveals that, their articles reflect a disturbingly left tilt, while frequently distorting or eliminating contradictory information.

For example, Snopes has a puzzling article on "Obama's 50 Lies." The authors proceed to list 50 innocuous and rather obscure charges, none of which I have ever heard. They then set about debunking most of the benign non-issues. But, try to fact find something relevant such as Mr. Obama's broken promise of healthcare transparency and you will get, "Sorry, no matches were found."

Mr. Obama and those in his adminstration made several references to his desire to eliminate both employer insurance and private insurers. If true, these are serious agenda items with massive consequences. After numerous searches, Snopes repeatedly responded with "Sorry, no matches." Yet, here is a montage of the actual comments on youtube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p-bY92mcOdk

The Mikkelson's, it turns out, are big Obama supporters and in favor of much of his tranformational agenda.

This is a disastrous tax measure for anyone who declares substantial amounts of gambling income even if they are not in the black for the year. For instance, if I did nothing but bet sports all year and had winning bets totaling 500,000 for the year and losing bets totaling 530,000, I would have lost 30,000 for the year. Under current law, the sum of the winning wagers would count as income and I would be able to deduct my losses up to my gains. I would owe no tax. Once this 3.8% unearned income tax kicks in, I would have to pay a 3.8% tax on my winning bets once I cross the 200,000 threshold regardless of the extent of losses. In the above case, I would have to pay 3.8% on 300,0000 (500k - 200k). So although I lost 30,000 on the year, I must write Uncle Sam a check for 11,400.

anybody who believed this POS was an idiot.....or a drunk

I voted for him ... and if you wanna ask why, it's because AARP McCain and dumbfuck Sarah Palin was my other choice.

If the retards Nominate Palin again and things will be no different.

Obama might have flaws but this country won't allow two hicks from a two-bit village in Alaska into the White House.

The country might not allow it but the powers that be will put whoever they want in the White House.
