Limited to 8 establishments, but feel free to put a 'write in' candidate if you see fit...

Ive been to them all except Doris. That will be my next stop. The list is very limited, but I think pound-for-pound Esquina De Buenos Aires is my favorite. I like the atmosphere, the food, and the value. I think the wine list is weak but that's about the only issue I have with them. I like Ka'Kau the food is decent and the atmosphere is very cool. TS is great for Costa Rica, but I have a long standing dislike for the waitors who insist change is a tip. Plus, I'm from the East Coast where you really have to cook great Italian food to be different. GOOOL, Popeyes and the Sportsman Lodge are obviously a joke. TOT is a great place for bar food and that makes it better then pretty much every bar in Costa Rica. The list should include all the better spots in San Jose and the beach areas to be considered real.

Is Esquina De Buenos Aires the restaurant in San Jose down down from Subway? Used to be really small till he expanded it into the other part next to his place. Adding a bar and everything?

And I agree, Popeyes for best food in CR?? Haven't been there but if that wins this poll, that just shows the taste on here...fast food...nom nom nom....

Haven't heard of Ka'Kau...What type of food do they have?

Esquina is great, lacks consistency however. Popeyes no joke. I'm not a huge Popeyes fan, but the one in Avenida Escazu is insane. I'm sure only for a limited time before they fuck it up and it reverts back to the mean.

I really had trouble coming up with 8 options, which is why some appear to be a joke.

The Carib Indians in Costa Rica are cannibals, they have the best food.

Lot of "what ifs" here but I like the poll. Can you add Jalapenos for me?

Next you should do a "sushi" themed one. Lots of missing spots from this poll, like Tin Ho, Tsunami, and your favorite, World Stage, Grano de Oro. LMAO

Culo, Ka Kau is in Escazu and I confused it with a restaurant in Manuel Antonio (Kapi Kapi), so sorry, I have never eaten there due to the fact a new spot open's up there every year. A buddy of mine says its pretty good so it might be a nice option over the other spots in Paco. Esquina is in downtown San Jose close to Tin Jo and close to Hunter's favorite night club Puchos (don't think there's a Subway close, but I'm not sure). We should start this list over... Much better options out there.

Jalapenos is great... nobody knows about it though. Best tex mex in Costa Rica by far however, and dirt cheap. Agree with Judge on Tsunami, but I just made it San Jose related. It is my favorite sushi spot however, and that is world wide. Another one of my favorite restaurants is A'Diamalo in Cartago, but I presume nobody knows about it either. I should have at least put Tin Jo on there, I love that place and its famous.

I really should do polls, like Best Italian, Best Chinese, Best Steakhouse etc... Cause in retrospect, it makes no sense at all to compare these restaurants lol

S&S took me to Pucho's for the first time and told me they served the best cannoli in town...They were a little too oiled up for my liking.:smoking:

For fast junky food, Macs has always been my favorite...

Ya, thats the place I mean. I was driving by the other night and noticed a huge crowd, which is a good sign. I will have to try it out. Is that Sash in Rohmersor the lebonese place?

La Olivas is good, but Tres Scalini is more comfortable environment. You ever try the Chinese place around the corner from it? Flor de something?

I have. It's not bad. My favorite place for Chinks is a dump on Paseo Colon called Mil Sabores. Very good food.
