Yup, I suggested it in the documentary thread a few weeks ago. I liked it. It is a documentary that was going to be more about street art, but as the movie came to life it became more about the man videotaping the art. The film balances the two subjects nicely and is worth the watch IMO. Also it is only like 70-80 mins I think.

Saw it on NetFlix and didn't think I would like it. I'll take a look tomorrow since I'm still snowed in. :(

Reason I haven't watched it yet. I was going in thinking it was going to be all about Banksy but have been told it turns out more to be about the filmmaker. Which still sounds cool but I was REALLY hoping it would be all about Banksy.

You will see enough of Bansky, although he doesn't show his face, to make it worth the watch. The docu shows him in action at a few locations.

Some people claim this movie isn't a real documentary, but an expertly planned out hoax. Whatever you think after watching it, I still highly recommend it. It's a damn good movie that will probably pick up best documentary if the "hoax" factor doesn't do it in. Another good documentary that I watched last night is Winnebago Man. It's not as good as Gift, but it was good for a few laughs if a lot of cussing doesn't offend you.

My Brother's Keeper followed by Restrepo are my two favorite documentaries ever.

The movie is essentially about how stupid people are when it comes to art. The filmmaker is a wacko who has no background in art at all, and follows around graffiti artists for a few years. Then he decides he's gonna give it a shot himself, spends a lot of money to have graphic designers print him out posters that he puts up all over LA, creates a lot of fake buzz about his art, puts on a show, and sells a million bucks of "art" crap to stupid herd mentality people that think it's great even though it's basically a mockery of the whole street art thing.

I couldnt tell if he purposely did it, or is just really stupid and thought he was great. I'd like to give him the benefit of the doubt, but there's at least a 75% chance he's a huge doofus.
