i am out of the loop with monitors...i have 2 19" widescreen LCD that are about 2-3 years old.

only thing I can recommend is dual (or more) monitors. Once you use them you will wonder how you ever did without.

this is a pretty good deal

24" LCD 1080p w/built in speakers for $120 through officemax (gotta get a 99 cent 30$ off coupon from ebay first and then add a small item(1 or 2$ to cart..because monitor is 149.99 and needs to reach 150 to use coupon)

as far as I know right now LED technology is just a keyword or coined term for technology that is coming in 2-5years where the screen will be 2-10X as bright and energy efficient... but now it is just the beginning stages... it really is still only edgelit on most tvs and monitors and therefore not as useful as a full led screen. besides that the usefulness is more detected in larger screens where lots of blacks n whites will be shown in movies/gaming.. on a computer screen there is never usually too much problem with contrast ratios.

Keep in mind that if you play games on your computer, a larger screen will make your video card work harder because it has to render images over a larger area. This could dramatically affect your framerate unless you have a high end vid card.

If you don't play games, disregard the above. IMO, there is little difference between picture quality and reliability between different brand names. I have two monitors, both dirt cheap(at the time) off brand names and have had no issues at all.
