screw an 18 game season, if they're going to add games i'd rather they add more playoff games, 8 from each conference like the NBA does but best of one ofcourse. that would be good for fans and players.

If there is a 18 game schedule, there'll be a double bye.
Don't like it, it'll also mean the bottom feeders will not give a chit from weeks 14-18.

Who do I back?
Neither.

No pity here for millionaires bickering with billionaires.

The players, they are the ones that are making these owners money. Its not much different than companies trying to lower the commission structure of their salespeople. The people that actually bring in the money should be compensated for it.

Owners.

The object of owning a business is to make money.

These players are making way too much....it costs the fans a shit-load of $$$ to attend games....and you have to deal w/ the cock-sucking, entitled attitude, wife beating, drug using, ego-maniac's playing a childs game.....

In theory I back the players, but in reality I don't support either side. Both sides are making so much money, but what to do they ever give back to the fans? Who can even afford to go to a game any more? The owners may be asking the players for salary and other types of cut backs, but do they ever think about reducing ticket prices, psl's, concessions? I love watching the game, and I hope they settle but I'll survive without it.

I hope they have a better deal for the veterans. Hate to see vets get cut because they have to millions to an unproven rookie. They need a reasonable rookie scale like the NBA. Also, leave it at 16 games and cut back the preseason games to two so the owners don't fuck the season ticket holders as bad.

If there is a lockout, many people will incorrectly conclude that the players are on strike. If the owners try and exploit that misinformation to make the players look like the bad guy, I'll end up siding with the players.

Both sides are free negotiate as they see fit and both will do so in whatever way will best serve their own self-interests

If there is a lockout my Sundays aren't going to suffer

If the players come out with a great deal, I'm sure the owners will still see huge profits and will always be free to come up with new ways to generate revenue

And if the owners come out with a great deal, I'm sure the players will still be earning good wages (and will be reminded that they could have spent the past few decades building a strong union rather than one that'is a total pushover)
