Seems rough to get anything over $500-$1000 down on anything other than NFL.

Offshores, from what I hear yes, compared to 10 years ago I heard offshore were the place to get down serious money. It's hard to get more than that down here though too in one place. Especially on totals, 500 is the max at a lot of places. although I've never tried cause I'm no where near those stakes, i always wondered if after making a max bet in Nevada if you could go ahead and do it again after they adjusted the line.

Betting at the counter in Nevada what keeps you from coming back in an hour or two and betting another 500 on the total.

They have photographic memory's?

Or have a friend beard for you.

There was a guy at another forum says the sportsbooks sup chased him down to buy back a ticket that was a bad line or some shit like that.

To me once you leave the counter is a contract bet both ways.

They do know and keep track of people, I am a regular at most books and the writer's all know be by name. I think the scared books would care. I'm pretty sure Peppermill would let me make another bet for the max right on the spot cause they're cool like that and they're not afraid to take action they'd just move the number to something I wouldn't like. But some of the other books might not let you. I've seen a guy in front of me get denied at one book to make another max bet on a world cup game last year.

When I was at Peppermill asked for a first half NBA line and was told no halftime lines.

i said and you call yourselves a shop.

Was not going to be there for the full game and wanted to bet the 1st half.

They do first and second halfs on NBA. that's weird. I wonder if the guy was being a dick. Was this recent?

Absolutely.

Less people betting due to economy means less vig coming in for books means tighter profit margins means tighter, ie scared books.

Was the Patriots/Giants Super Bowl weekend,a couple few years ago.
I started betting there about a couple years before that and didn't pay attention to halfs but I know they have em now for sure. My favorite book to bet by far too, but then again I'm not into a lot of exotic type bets I just bet totals, spreads, ML bets. They comp sports better well though.
