All this Rock and Roll talk, that I thought I needed to switch it up...

I love hip hop and rap. There's a TON that I hate, but a lot I like.

Tupac was one of my favorites. However, I feel like his music isn't aging well. He was one of those ahead of his time and definitely influenced rap. I wonder how he would be musically if he was still alive... Thats my question to you

Biggie, I think is overrated as "one of the greatest rappers ever".. I say that because how can you be the greatest ever, with only TWO albums that were good... However, I think his music is aging well. ... If he was still alive where would he stand in the hip hop world?

IMO, I think Tupac would be the king of rap. Kind of what Jay Z is today. He was very intelligent... When he was young he was just so raw and emtional. I think he would of matured well, and really been just as big as he is after his death.

Biggie, even though his music is still relevant today, I just think his style would of fell out of favor with the public because he wasn't very diverese. Everything would sound the same and it would be hard to match Life After Death. He would be the guy thats been around forever still trying to make music... but only his loyal followers care. Kind of like Bone Thugs N Harmony.

Just my opinion. Pac is one of the people from the past I would like to meet.

i think pac was on his way out before his death. that last album he put out completed his 3 album deal with death row. he was then going to leave death row and get out of rap altogether and get into acting from what i read.

this is why some people say suge was behind the shooting. he couldnt afford to let pac go. if he killed pac he would have his master recordings, which were worth millions.

If BIG was around Jay-Z would still be a great rapper, but IMO he would have never had the huge world wide fan base he has now. More than likely BIG would have stepped away from BadBoy at some point. Puff Daddy hasn't maintained any of his artist throughout their entire careers outside of him own.

Tupac was a headcase. Contradiction was part of his style. One of the best to ever do it, but I don't think he would have been loved by many because he stirred the pot too much. He probably would have flip flopped from East to West Coast about 4 different times by now.

I agree about biggie, but I dont think Tupac was a head case. I think he was just growing up in the lime light trying to find who he is. He grew up in no particular area, lived poorly, but was able to go to a highly touted art school in Baltimore.... One of those people trying to find his place in life.. I think that where the contradiction comes from. He would of been in movies and whatnot, but everyone was drawn to him for a reason.

I doubt pac would still be the king, I mean I'm not sure how old he would be today but I'm sure he would be up there in age. I think he would still be good but would he have sold out to the type of rap we hear today or would he keep it real. Today's audience doesn't want to hear rappers talking about real life stuff which is what I like. Look at bone thugs, they never sold out to what record companys want and they can't get a good deal because of it.

He was 25 when he died, and died in 96.... that was 15 years ago, so he would be 40.. thats probably the same age as JayZ... I think he would of changed to todays music, but its not all bad.. plus I definitely think he would of evolved. He was already getting into movies.. he wasn't scared of changed...

I think theres a better chance he would quit rapping all together than evovle to todays music

I happen to agree about Life After Death being hard to top. I could see it being BIG's Illmatic: a classic album that sets the bar too high for any of his other works. I think he still would have had some more hits because there were about 2 or 3 years after his death where his style was still in vogue. On a non-musical note, he would have had another child (out of wedlock) with Lil Kim, who aborted the baby after he died. It would have certainly put him in the gossip pages.

I didn't know much about Pac, his death was why I started paying attention to hip-hop strangely enough.

I agree. That is what made NWA all the guys back in the day great, they rapped about real stuff.

Dude its a trip you say this.. Cause if you asked me in 1997 who I liked more. I would of no doubt said 2pac..

But I now feel Biggie's songs are easier to listen too and I still have the urge to listen to his songs, 2pac not so much.. I agree 100% with your aging opinion.. Thought I was the only one who felt this way.

Im guessing both wouldve just did what all rappers do now and branched out brand wise.

clothing line, vitamin-water, vodka, own record label, whatever....Thats all music is now is a starting point to branching out brand wise...Atleast from a business sense

Rap music used to be lyrical poetry. Now its become garbage.
I do wish 2pac and BIG were here to put all these little waynes in their place
