2, 3, 4+ points? talking purely pre-tip.

When you overbet the original position planning to middle some back, aka forecasting the line move

when you change your mind about your position

otherwise, keep the bet as is.

very good points.

personally I look for halftime numbers where I can get a 6+ point opportunity.

A point is worth about 2.4%, so about 2 points is a good middle. Of course, if you have a play and the line moves two points in your favor, it'd be silly to take the other side just to middle it. You'd dilute a solid play with a -ev position.

Even if you have a 10 point middle, you don't necessarily jump on it until you check out the first half numbers/stats and then make a determination if it's worth it or not...

i do especially if i know im in great shape to hit my original bet , ive done it alot where 2 teams have scored 100+ On a low 180's total and have hammered the 2nd half under where i find the line was set to high and giving both teams a chance to look at first half play and change d or slow tempo

I think I've tried to middle the halftime total at least 20 times. I seldom win even when the spread is 10+ pts. But I never learn and keep doing it...

From my experience its better to press your bet e.g. if you have the over for the game, also take the over for the 2nd half. Same w/ the under.

Last nights games are good evidence of this , but ive seen it go other ways a lot too.
